...Wonder Girl ~ Wonder Woman's protege/assistant ~ At least during the Silver/Bronze Ages , orphan Donna Troy , brought from Man's World to Paradise Island to be Wonder Woman and her mother , Hippolyta's , adopted child . A member of the Teen Titans .
(However , the earliest SA stories of Wonder Girl were sinply presented as Wonder Woman's fantasies/writing for her own and her friends' pleasure imagining " If I , Wonder Woman , had had my WW powers and costume as a teenager , this is what I would've been like " ~ This was eventually combined with another series of WW's fantasies involving herself as " Wonder Tot " to have the two , the regular WW, and Hippolyta having adventures as the " Wonder Family " , still presented as fantasies within the comics' world ! There was a seperate " fantasy " series of stories involving a more " teenage-y " young Wonder Woman having adventures with a teenage version of WW's boyfriend , Steve Trevor ! All of this didn't change the original WW origin , which was that US Air Force* pilot Steve crashed on or near Paradise Island , and Hippolyta decided that one of the Amazons should be sent to Man's World to fight evils out there...Originally specifically tied to World War II , even by the 60s I guess they'd...slurched...away from that ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! Furthermore , it was a mistake made by another writer and editor at DC that led to the " Donna Troy " Wonder Girl , when the first Teen Titans story was wriien Wonder Girl was shown as a Robin-style ward living in WW/Hippolyta's world who answere the summons to be in the Teen Titans , as I said , that was never the intention of Wonder Girl's appearances in the - um , gotta say it , " mothership "
- Wonder Woman comic book! {
There may have been a story or two that implied/could be misread as saying , anyway , that Wonder Girl was a seperate person in contemporary times that that DC writer in the 60s could've seen .
} It took years for the Teen Titans comic book to resolve this officially , and print the Donna Troy explanation in a story...
!
) As you can see , I know LOTS about old DC comics
! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
*-I suppose it would've been the " Army Air Corps " , not the USAF , technically speaking , that early in the 40s...........
)
I'm not sure whether there's a Wonder Girl in the present N52 DC Universe , but bluntly , if there isn't now there will be soon (especially with the forthcoming Wonder Woman movie) , bluntly , the lawyers wouldn't let DC " not protect their copyright " on the name , and with Wonder Girl more a DC concept that " regular " people (due to the 70s TV series , if nothing else) have heard of ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
