I think it's more a case of etiquette than grammar. That's starting a sentence with 'and', or an 'or'.\

Mataphorically. The battle was one huge battle between armies, and my ally was killed off early in the game due to his own sheer stupidity. It was a 2v2v2 game, and I ended up with two sides to play at the start, until my superweapon general dozers were destroyed, and I was left with airforce general dozers. It took at least two hours, and I got a buddy out of it. I was almost crippled several times, but I came out with a win, I was forced to side with an enemy who had lost their own ally.
