((This shall be last time I post here for now. As I said the previous nights, feel free to use my character while I'm off. Also, good job Flagg, I thought that we were all about to be killed off.))

"I can take care of the bleeding myself." Alan said as he grabbed a medkit out of one of the hazard suits pockets. He applied a disinfectant to the wound and grimaced in pain as he took the bullet out. He stiched the wound himself and applied bandages.

Then he and Nida heard the comm message and he said to her, "Lets go bring them the stretchers something bad probably happened."

((Good point. And it won't be a cliched revival, with no explanation....))

((How long will you be gone for, Yvan?))

Saldana checked the debilitated pair. Virgil was bleeding, and would have to be patched up pretty quick. Sydney had no pulse, and the weapon he had used was set to kill. What a waste, I'll miss Sydney. He always knew how to fix things.

((I don't know. School may or may not start tomorrow so if it does you may not hear me till someone time tomorrow night. If it doesn't start tomorrow I'll be on in the morning.))

Nidia followed Alan's lead in silence and shortly thereafter the two of them arrived on the scene with the requested stretchers.

"Colonel..." She stared at Saldana, then at the dead man and the injured one. Craziness. I am a magnet for craziness. "And now?"

"It turned out bad, Virgil went crazy, and staged the attack on the reactor so that Sydney would come out to face him. Virgil shot Sydney with a rubber shotgun pellet, I shot and incapacitated him so that he no longer posed a threat. Sydney said that he was no use, and killed himself before I could do anything about it." Saldana pulled Virgil onto one stretcher, and then Sydney's limp, smiling corpse onto the other. "We'll take Virgil up to the medical facility first, then Sydney's corpse. Alan, you help me, Nidia, you open all the doors ahead of us, and operate the elevator."

((And that's all folks, bedtime. You may use my character to continue the story, but don't do anything serious.))

"Better the other way around." Nidia took her place at the foot of the stretcher. "I shot Alan in the arm," she stated, matter-of-factly.

((Night then!))

"Damn, you have a lot of explaining to do. Ready." Saldana picked up the other end of the stretcher.

((And now I'm turning off my computer.))

((I'll avoid posting any more actual additions to the story until well after I am buried. I have a few errands to do....))

Virgil came around slowly, he was being carried through the halls by Alan and the Colonel. Cameron was walking beside them with a wide smile "You f*****g devil, you did it! You even caught me off guard with the reactor - I thought this place would be glowing in bout' five minutes. Slip some skin you crazy SoB - you stopped a madman and only got yourself shot once. That's new f****n' record for us!"

High fiving Cameron about a dozen times with his good hand he was also laughing at the same time "How's Syndey guys? He being a crazy s**thead?"

Despite what the colonel had said, Nidia remained quiet. In the face of chaos, it was her custom to preserve herself in silence. In her head she broke into a litany as they carted Virgil along, meditating to block out her puzzled thoughts. Holy Mary, Pray for us. Holy Mother of God, Pray for us. Holy Virgin of virgins, Pray for us. Saint Michael, Pray for us.

Virgil's sudden return to consciousness and his joyful outburst caused her to jump, nearly dropping her end of the stretcher. She listened dully as the colonel told Virgil of Syndey's fate, and Virgil reacted to the news. Her gaze dropped to Virgil's face on occasion and she was tempted to try to make sense of it, but retreated again into her meditation as this proved hopeless.

Saint Gabriel, Pray for us. Saint Raphael, Pray for us. All ye holy angels and archangels, Pray for us...
