"Interesting, you seem more afraid of me then the mutants out there." Speaking as he shoveled Virgil sounded completely relaxed and at ease with the area. "My reputation is only there because I decided to be honest with the guys and tell I was diagnosed with mild paranoia, over time they just blew it out of proportion."
"But in some ways it's good, when everyone thinks your mad they leave you be and when you make a threat they take you completely seriously no matter what it is. I mean, you people actually thought I would blow the place up! I had that whole thing planned from the get go, that thing Sydney had become was f*****g arrogant and had a massive stick up it's ass."
"I went to the armory to make him think I was going mad and being a paranoid f**k and then I activated the diagnostic system to jam the controls on the reactor - I knew he would try and stop me and used those lame ass speakers. All I had to do was hack the system and blow the rooms circuits."
"Then I put up the display at the reactor core, complete with convincing mad ranting and BAM! He comes out to taunt me and ends up sucking rubber slug. If the Colonel hadn't shot me I could've stopped him from killing himself to. That little prick didn't want to be caught."
"You wondering why I am telling you all this? Well, honestly the rest of them think I am completely mad now and I need someone how knows how the cards are really lying."
Virgil dug quietly for another few hours, only when they were ready to slide in the box did he speak again.
"I didn't want it to end like this...." Virgil couldn't hold back the tears "I'm so sorry Sydney, I let that monster inside you win."
When he'd let his emotions flow as much as he needed stood up again and got Nida to help him push the box into the grave.
"All's well that ends well, which is nothing in this case."
Returning to his work he maintainted slience untill they he finished burying him. Picking up some rocks and twigs he made a symbol from old Eygtian mytholgy for eternal life on Sydney's grave and whispered the words "Eternal Rest, Eternal Sleep, may it be peaceful and pure. May-kei, May-Kei (Nobody else in the bunker is capable of understanding the last words, they roughly translate as "Sorrows piled for the dead we loved".)"
Walking back into the bunker with Nida they sliently deconned and went their seperate ways.
