In theory, pay it off, as I believe in the virtue of saving as opposed to debt. However, the whole business has now been turned on its head, and debtors are rewarded with interest rates well below the inflation rate, so I'd probably opt for an ongoing mortgage in today's world.

Pay by credit card. I'm not giving anyone access to my bank account via a debit card. Credit cards are insured. If you get scammed, it's the bank's money and not yours.

But then I pay my credit card on time to avoid interest ^ .
