It depends on what you're interested in. For starters, I might recommend Southbank Parklands; the nearby Queensland Cultural Centre (with the State Library, Art Gallery, Theatre and Museum); City Botanic Gardens and the nearby Queensland State Parliament; Mt Coot-tha parkland and lookout; Kelvin Grove Village Market (Saturday) and Riverside Garden Markets (Sunday); the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary; the Queen Street Mall and the nearby Treasury Casino.

There are lots of bars, shopping and restaurants in the city centre, nightclubs in Fortitude Valley and decent walking/bike paths along the Brisbane River. You might also catch rugby league and AFL games at Suncorp Stadium and The Gabba, respectively. Further afield are ferry trips on Moreton Bay, including to Stradbroke Island. There are also day trips north to the Sunshine Coast for beaches, Australia Zoo, and the Mooloolaba Aquarium; plus day trips south to the Gold Coast for beaches, theme parks and Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. These are just the ones I can think of off the top of my head.

I'd love to visit anywhere in Canada. But who am I kidding? My next trip abroad will probably be to visit relatives in New Zealand ... again.

Thank you very much for that! I appreciate it and I'll screenshot it for future reference. I won't be staying right in Brisbane but I'll want to see some of the city's cultural attractions.

Maybe I'll see what bands are going to be in town when I'm there.

I love museums if they're small and dimly lit, without school groups or lots of visitors.
I also like plays but I prefer live musicals.

I'd probably pick the musical but it would be a hard choice.

Have you ever purchased a small grey basket that you needed for a specific spot, and then within 24 hours discovered it was missing even though your house was spotless? (Whoops).
