Dear Sylkat

You could briefly stay in that lovely beachfront castle until Cthulhu's minions rise from the deep to cast it into the waves.

Would that be worth it?

Well,that's it.....

I am NOT going to the beach today.

A lot of people became scared to go to the beach when Jaws came out in 1975.

Did you blame them?

Probably disappointed quite a few hungry sharks, though.....

The rising of the Old Ones would be a much more exciting and unusual event to watch from a safe distance than a mere hungry shark or two...

Who here has read The Kraken Wakes, by the way?

That will keep you away from the beach.

John Wyndham was one of my favorites...

The film version of 'The Midwich Cuckoos', 'Village of the Damned' scared the daylights out of me when I first saw it!

I've read The Midwich Cuckoos and The Kraken Wakes. Couldn't find the rest yet.

The Day of the Triffids remains my favourite however. I also recall listening to a serialized version of it over the radio when I was about 10 or so.

I re-read the book quite recently.

They're not really indoor plants.

They lie in wait for someone to venture outside...

They are very fond of hanging around outside apartment blocks as there are many residents and the triffids love surprises...

More like:

'if you want to know about true and accurate documentaries regarding carnivorous extraterrestrial plants. ( who sing) ask Kyle!'

Enviro in a nutshell. I like how laid-back a guy he is.

Yeah, me too. I'm terrible with conversations on topics that I know little about, and sometimes I feel like I'm intruding if I can't think of anything useful to say. Which means I've been taking hiatuses, of late ? kinda like with Krabo and Blue, but with shorter intervals. Other times though, it's nice just to catch up everyone again.
