Heh, assuming there was an Aspergian militia, we probably would not need humans to do the fighting, we'd send robots to do these things. This would provide several advantages:
1. Lack of human casualties,
2. bulletproof soldiers, with complex computerized systems of analyzing information built into them. They could have artificial intelligence as well.
3. Robots can be prepared, humans often can't.
4. With advanced enough technology, robots can possibly shape shift and voice shift, making it far easier for them to infiltrate enemy ranks. They could also learn new languages on the drop of a dime by merely being exposed to or emersed in them.

But as horrible as it might seem, there might exist situations where there is no choice but to kill women or children for national security reasons. I know that sounds bad, but look back at Viet Nam... People in the US called them baby killers, but in reality they HAD to kill those kids some times. Lets say, for instance, a kid is walking through a check point, refuses to tip his straw hat. For all you know, he could be carrying a grenade under the hat. These types of things do happen.
It's bad enough our soldiers had to carry this grief on their conscience, it's worse when they come home and theyr own people are rubbing their noses in it. I don't agree with why our leaders sent us into that war, but it does not change the fact that our soldiers where just doing what they had to do.

What? And take away all the fun? Nah. Besides, I don't like the whole "Genesis of the Daleks"/"Skynet blows up the world" idea too much anyway... 8O :D

Kids are people too and many countries use them as shields and soldiers, we should put up with their tactics and not do anything. I agree with you snake321.

Dude, I know it's bad to kill children, but if it comes down to national security, in other words, either you kill the kid or the kid potentially kills hundreds of your brothers in arms, what choice will you make?

Are you willing to live with the consequences if the kid set off a bomb and blew up your facility, killing possibly hundreds of your fellow soldiers? Which would hurt the war effort, which in turn would hurt America.
I know, it would be a tough thing to live with. If I were in that situation, I dunno if I'd ever be the same again. I might off myself out of guilt. But I'd know I did the right thing to protect my fellow soldiers and my country.

Kill the kid. that's what I said above. Enemies do tactics like that to play with people's minds, the soldiers and the media. The enemy must be stopped and the kids are brainwashed anyway. One reason they teach kids to kill/walk through minefields/strap 50kg of explosive on them and blow up inside a bus, is that they're easy to convince them. They are the perfect soldier, they can kill on the battlefield and -with the help of the enemy country's liberal media- stop support for the opposing troops because they kill "innocent" children.

The kid would have to die if it was an imminent threat. As for robots, yes, those could flesh out the bulk of the military as general combat troops. The humans would be the officers.

Even if the kid is innocent now he'll grow up to be a piece of crap, might as well kill him now.

I said assassin, not guard, not infantry, not nameless mook. Understand my strategic application; I'm the perfect peacetime weapon; I just come with a couple of simple rules regarding my use; if my rules are problematic, you want someone else to do the job; sounds like there are pleanty of volunteers to tackle those lesser missions.

[When did this turn into the "let's argue about kid killing" thread? WTF?]

Good fortune,

Just be sure that they are just cold blooded killers and not crazy psychopaths.
