If alligator eggs are incubated over 93 degrees F (33.8 degrees C), the embryos will develop into males, while in temperatures below 86 degrees F (30 degrees C) embryos will develop into females.

In temperatures between 86 and 93 degrees F an embryo could develop into a male or female.

Most dust particles in your house are made from dead skin!

A fake orgasm will burn more calories than a real one.

The limit of music we can have that sounds recognizably different is over a billion. Unless we ever develop new instruments.

Urine has been used as soap and toothpaste before.

An anagram for the eyes is they see, debit card is bad credit, and the countryside is no city dust here.

The average person will spend two years making love. Americans are at the world average, while Canadians are about 3 months.

North and South Korea are still at war. They will probably beat the hundred years war record at this rate, since there hasn't been a single casualty in more than 50 years. So both sides are still going pretty strong.

Jingle Bells is a Thanksgiving song, not a Christmas song.

Jerry Lee Lewis was suspected in the deaths of two of his wives, but never arrested.

Two of his seven marriages were bigamous.

Coco Chanel inadvertently started the trend for sun-tans in 1923 when she got accidentally burnt on a cruise, thus aiding America in developing much higher rates of sun cancer. (And helping the sunscreen business become lucrative.)

At one quietly forgotten point in Ford's history, car bodies were "stroked" with ostrich feathers to remove static electricity before painting.

Bonnie and Clyde were buried in two different cemeteries.

Because Bonnie's family, especially her mother, HATED him, and blamed him for her life of crime.

They were right.

The only two days of the year in which there are no professional sports games played (MLB, NBA, NHL, or NFL) are the days before and after the Major League Baseball All Star Game.

The ball game of the Aztecs was much more than a sport....all members of the losing team were sacrificed to the gods.

At least, this has been believed for some time......many archaeologists now acknowledge that it probably was the WINNING team who were given to the gods to honor and appease them.

The cigarette lighter was invented before the match.

Like fingerprints, everyone's tongue print is different.

The Statue of Liberty was originally planned to be put in Egypt to celebrate the completion of the Suez Canal.

We can either try to "fit in" with the rest of society, or we can be so egocentric that we can't be bothered.
I choose the actor. I observe NT's. I listen to their socializing. I practice it, so in social situations I can just emulate/mimic what is expected.
It isn't natural for me, but it enables me to "fit in".
It is VERY tiring and draining, but at least we can appear like them even though it is an act. Like being on the stage.
They can't see it is emulation, and so we are accepted.

Edwin Hubble, the astronomer who first acquired evidence that galaxies were in fact moving away from each other and so that the universe is expanding, died in 1953. The Hubble Space Telescope (which is of course named after him) was originally set to launch in 1983, but was delayed due to technical problems and a lack of funding (which in large part resulted from the Challenger explosion in 1986-- once that accident happened, it set the Hubble back another few years). It was eventually launched in 1990.

The oldest signer of the Declaration of Independence was Benjamin Franklin who was 70 at the time. At the signing, Franklin famously said "We must all hang together, or, most assuredly, we shall all hang separately."
