Hope he or someone else can fix the login problem I've been having for a while, now. Every 5-or-so minutes I keep getting logged out, even in the middle of a post (including this one).

you?

Congratulations, Kip. :) Definitely a busy time in life. Takes me back to when I'd just gotten out of high school. Memories. :P Did you do anything special to celebrate having graduated? Do you know what you'll be studying at college (or "uni", as we call it here)?

As for me, nothing interesting has been happening here – just paying bills and visiting family. It's been a colder-than-average winter here: one small hamlet in Queensland actually saw snow. 8O That's just bizarre for us. I don't even own a scarf.

Yes, congratulations Kip, and good luck on the job search. I too would be interested to hear what you are going to study.

Murihiku, it's been cold here too. The coldest temperatures in 60 years in parts of the north island. :? I at least own a lot of warm weather gear, I don't like to cold.

Hey, maybe we could all get together and knit you a scarf to keep you warm, from all your friends at WP. I'm not great at knitting, but my skills do stretch as far as a scarf. :P

Why not?

If you can't knit, you could just donate the fur from those wombats you were shaving. :P

Sure. Just don't let me have more than one glass of wine or the scarf might start going a bit wonky. :P

I couldn't knit to save a turtle's life. I'm no good with crafts.
But I can help Krabo with the booze. I think we need some pizza too, that's also something I can help with. 8)

Yummmmm! I'll have some of that pizza. :D I'll even bring some if need be.

Just don't ask me to knit. I have enough trouble using chopsticks sometimes.

You can eat with chopsticks, Murihiku?
I tried it once. My dog was very happy about it; after all, anything on the floor was his!

How can it be that the nation who invented gunpowder, paper, and the compass, were unable to imagine a better way to shovel in food than chopsticks? :chin:

Who knows, after all, for centuries the Chinese prided themselves on being inscrutable....

Personally, I think that the inventor of chopsticks just liked to drive people crazy.......

Like his invention of teacups without handles.....if the tea is nice and hot, you will burn your hand....

If the tea is cool enough to be comfortable, I don nt ant to drink cold tea.

Sigh.

Yeah, gotta wonder what they were thinking, Krabo. I once saw a funny stripe of the comic Nemi where she eats at a sushi restaurant and complains about the chopsticks, wondering if she can have some rocks to eat dessert with lol

Apparently it started with stirring sticks for use in pots.

I have not seen teacups without handles. Why would anyone want or need them?

In Asia, tea is traditioally served in what looks like little bowls, but are called teacups.

They are lovely and delicate and made of porcelain.

Very pretty, but I prefer a nice, big mug of hot tea....Tetley's, Yorkshire, or Twining's

Breakfast or Irish are my favorites.

Plenty of Aussies can use chopsticks. I guess it comes with our love of Asian food, which is perhaps unsurprising given our proximity to Asia. I learned it from eating at Japanese restaurants every other week. BTW, I think sushi is traditionally a finger food, so you don't have to use chopsticks if you don't want to.

That's funny about your dog, too. I remember my mother telling me to "stop feeding the floor" when I'd drop some food as a kid.
