I prefer the Sci-Fi Channel Dune Mini-series to the 1984 box office bomb....

They got the storyline and background right, although I have to say that I prefer Jurgen Prochnow as Leto, Freddie Jones as Thufir and Dean Stockwell as Yueh. Oh, and the music. But the miniseries does trump the movie. Better hope that the new movie has the best of both worlds...

What's wrong with the avatar anyway? Granted the guild navigator doesn't wear any clothes but its not like he's got any genitals on show. I'm not even sure they had any.

I hadn't made the connection. I can see a certain similarity though now you say. Both 'pink' and small arms and legs.

While a guild navigator could fold space and perhaps dump an enemy in a black hole, someone with the ability to go back in time would have a superior advantage and could kill a guild navigator while he was just an embryo :P
