Kimmy looked a little nervous as she watched Lucy leap down. She never did like heights, stemming from that time she fell off of her dad's Charizard, on top of the time she made one misstep on the sliding pole in the school playground, not to mention she hated the feeling of falling, and she was cold from the rain. "Umm, would you be mad if I backed out...?" she called out below.

(And no, nobody would have saw Irene or Clone Laura. Maybe they did, but they would have looked like ordinary people just passing by since only Laura and Calem out of all of our characters knows what she looks like, and Laura didn't notice and Calem is inside.)

"You're back quicker than I thought," Guinan remarked. "Not much fun out there after all?"

"Hehehehe..." Ki sat up on their elbows, chuckling at Mars for a bit, before they let go and flopped back onto the grass with their arms spread out. "Mmm.."

They sat there with their eyes closed for a bit, but with a secret smile they grabbed Mars by the arm as he was passing by, so that he fell down next to them with a yelp. Ki smiled. "Don't go. Stay with me." They closed their eyes as they slowly edged closer to him. "Let's just be the stupid people that lay out in the rain at two in the morning. ...Ey?"

They closed their eyes as they lay under the shade of a giant tree. Silence followed for a few minutes, and Ki could feel themselves sinking further down into the grass...

But suddenly their eyes jerked open. "Somehow this reminds me of something."

BOP.

There had been a long and uncomfortable silence at the table, so Lychee decide to interrupt it by talking. "...Um, sooo... you guys are from another planet, right?"

"So, therefore, you are from another place which is not Earth."

"And, like... that is different." They tilted their head at Guinan, since she seemed like a safe approach for this situation. "So um, Guinan. What planet are you from? What is it like?"

Meanwhile, bullets of sweat were pouring down Lychee's forehead. Sweet Jesus, these are like... kindergarten-level social skills. Their breathing were panicked and shallow. I... I haven't even had a meeting with my social skills group since kindergarten.

"You know, based on what my dad told me about weather on Earth I thought it would be a lot worse then this." says Mars, looking at the sky and shielding his eyes from the rain with his hand. He watches the sky, mesmerized by the occasional flashes of lightning in the clouds until he hears Ki mention that this reminds them of something. "Ahh? What does it remind you of?" he replies.

Ki's eyebrows creased together as they stared blankly down at the ground. "I don't know, I just feel like..."

"Wait." Their eyes narrowed. Falling, laughing, being with somebody. Talking to them. Their breathing hitched as a scene came pulsing back to them.

~~Flashback~~
A waterfall somewhere high up in the mountains. There were trees all over the place, but they were sparse and it was nothing like a lush forest. They were running down a river, splashing through the water, headed toward the waterfall. Someone's footsteps were splashing along behind them. "March, wait up!" came a girl's voice. She had long brown hair and white skin.

She was too late though, because then they stepped off the cliff, bringing their knees up to their chest as they plunged into the water below. Splash! They sunk beneath the water like a weight, the sound filling their ears, before bobbing back up. Then they gasped. There was another gasp of air beside them as the girl's head emerged from the water with a splash. "Ahahaha!"

"Thank you for accompanying me today, Phoebe," they said with little emotion.

"Of course!" The girl smiled cheerfully. "It's really nice out here!" she said, and then looked away shyly. "I mean, it has been a while since we hung out like this... Maybe not even since we were young. I mean, ever since you transferred to Pitcairn, I feel like I haven't seen you as much..."

Suddenly she decided to change the subject. "Uhm...! Anyway, how has your father been?"

They closed their eyes and sighed. "I've told you before, this is not something I wish to discuss."

Ki remained still as the wind continued to blow through their hair. "Who's... Phoebe?" they muttered. They were staring at the ground. They had remained silent for the past few minutes, so Mars may have noticed something was up.

"I could be asking you the same question, I've never met a 'Phoebe' in my life." replies Mars, rather confused. "Are you alright? You've been awfully silent."

"Ah!" Ki shook their head suddenly, snapping out of their thoughts. "Sorry, I just remembered something."

Silence followed.

"...You know, ever since I woke up in the Higher Plane, I didn't remember anything about who I was," Ki said quietly.

They turned to Mars with apprehension. "I... have only been around for about nine months. I've always wondered, 'Where am I from?' 'Who were my parents?' 'How did I die?' ...Imagine not knowing any of that."

Guinan smiled wistfully as she replied. "Yes, well, I grew up on the third planet in the El-Aurian system, very far from here. Physically, it was a lot like earth. There were no battles as you have here though. Our schools were very different."

The rain begins to let up a bit and it becomes more of a light trickle.

Mars stays silent for a moment before saying "Yeah, that does indeed sound very weird." As he thinks over what Ki said again he gets a quite confused look and says "Wait, what do you mean 'how did you die'? You don't look very dead. And what exactly is the higher plane?"

Aleta, slender and quiet, softly leads Kurea out to the balcony, and the latter lets the rain slide down her face, blinking and staring about almost in wonder.

"Ah!" Ki blinked, as if they just now realize that Mars wouldn't understand. Then they rubbed a hand on the back of their head irritatedly. "Ugh, how do I explain... I have told you I am an angel, right?"

They turned to Mars. "I work for this God called the Great Dolphin. Except all of its angels are created from the souls of dead people. Normally folks are supposed to remember things about their previous lives, but for some reason I don't know anything..."

"The Greater Plane is like the human concept of heaven. That's the realm where the Dolphin God and its emissaries reside," Ki explained.

"No, because then all my questions would have been about that." replies Mars. "So you are saying that there is an after life and that you came from it? That's a lot to take in..." he says rather skeptically.
