It's ok Theta, it was just a panic reaction. I still would have picked you up at the airport and been pleased to see you. :D

Ugh, video chat is even worse, then you have to talk, otherwise you are just looking at someone on a screen. I'd much rather go out for lunch with someone, at least then you can focus on the food, and have a topic of conversation in front of you.

I need to get back to Skyping with my Italian language exchange friend. That is a nightmare, like video chat but with the added difficulty of listening and responding in a foreign language.

How did he...? 8O How are the bears not eating him?

Theta, you should definitely come to the meet-up if you can! You and Mooms just have to agree on when would be best for both of you. I don't really like video chat either (for the same reasons as Mooms) so if it's not totally necessary then maybe we can just leave that out?

But this is exciting, I'm already starting to look forward to meeting you guys! :D

With our exchange rate, I don't think I could at this point much as I'd like to. But who knows what may happen before then. Maybe I can win a jackpot or make my fortune with some yet undiscovered thing...

A delectable meal , a walk along the beach, a visit to an art gallery or museum... would all be great to do together....

One step at a time. I live in the Finnish Lapland, not far from the arctic circle. That's how I am familiar with wolves and bears and muskets.

Ah, so you're in the southern part of Lapland! Are you near the coast?

Or near Russia? Or in the middle somewhere?

Well, that narrows it down considerably! :D

Wait, I think you're messing with me. Do Finns ever measure things in miles?

Is it near Salla?

Or maybe south of there, near Route 866?

Sorry, I have to figure it out now. :D

Never in the English miles. There was this Swedish mile, peninkulma, but it hasn't been used for centuries.

Hint: Google for Sodankylä.

Whaaaat?... That's in Lapland alright, but it's also well inside the Arctic Circle, and definitely more than a mile (by anyone's measure) from Russia!

Unless a mile means half the country. :P
