Ah, you like to plan your meals quite far ahead of time?

Does your family work according to a set menu?

Korma is nice. Not too hot.

Mediterranean type food is generally my favourite. Feta, eggfruit, spanakopita, olive oil...

I'm very partial to the occasional Haloumi cheese.

No, we don't usually do that, but for once we planned what we were having two days in a row and had bought all the ingredients necessary.
Saturday is always a cozy food day though, like pizza or grilled chicken.

Korma is very delicious indeed, as is chicken tikka masala and tandoori.
I tend to like Indian, Tex-Mex, Thai food, pizza and pasta. And kebab.
And some more local dishes, like fish cakes, fish au gratin, fish bolls in curry sauce, local soups...

You don't like hot food, Enviro?
I'm very fond of spicy foods.

Hmm... I've never had that cheese...

Now I'm starving having read that. I love Mediterranean food. I also like spicy food, like Indian or Thai. I think it might have to be a curry tonight. :D

Hot foods, chillies etc, are OK within reason.

Nothing that so overwhelms my palate and tongue that I can't taste anything else for hours.

Just enough to work up a glaze of sweat on my forehead, and banish the cold bugs.

No argument there, Enviro. Hot isn't good if it's not tasty. We tried another tikka masala than our usual brand, and it was just really hot but not tasty. We only tried it once, never again having that one.
We stopped using the good brand of chili con carne for the same reason. They changed the delicious recipe and made it hotter, which didn't contribute to its taste at all.

Yes, why do manufacturers try to fix what isn't broken? So often something has been changed for the worse rather than better. I have also often tried new things such as breakfast cereals, only to find them taken off the market later. I even called a manufacturer's call centre once after finding that a particularly filling cereal had been discontinued, to my great disappointment.

Making one's own meal from scratch is great when you have the time and inclination to. I was lazy this evening, but tomorrow evening I may decide to make vetkoek with a filling of some curried imported Quorn mince (vegetarian mince) made up with some onion and a white sauce with cheese.

Pancakes made with cinnamon sugar are also popular here, especially when it's cold or rainy.

How are they going to flip that thing?

I shall need quite a lot of Log Cabin, I think.

I think that trunk / caber thingy does the flipping.

Is Log Cabin a brand of syrup?

How about 52 liters of the best vanilla ice cream with that?

With 14 liters of chocolate syrup.
