"Aye, I do but before we leave maybe we should salvage what we can on the ship." she said "Well, it also wouldn't hurt to see if Sindri left behind some books. I did see him carry some around and I think one may be a diary of deep, dark, embarrassing secrets!"

((Just to work with what Sindri suggested x: ))

As much as he hates being used by me, imagine how much he'd loathe being used by you. No, he'd throw off whatever chains you could manage to summon. Kronos and I had a hell of a time sealing him. Besides, as long as I am alive, this binding cannot be broken."

The energy wings spread a little.

"You know, just before we 'get it on', as they say in the vernacular, where is Dibble?"

((What did you choose, Kezzstar?))

Four red beams shot out of the Void, wrapping themselves around Ethotoms. ((Choice made LOL))

"WHAT?" he cried.

"All around the cobblers' bench
The monkey chased the weasel
The bigger you are the harder you'll fall
HERE COMES DIBBLE!"

And out of the Void, came Dibble. The Bear was gone, and she was a wooden clown-faced toy monkey again.

"This is what I am. Not some half-human half-monkey. Hee hee hee! Now let's have some fun!"

Dibble threw her beloved stinkbombs at the EE, who backed away.

"DRAGON FORCE!" Dibble leapt into the air, the four Dragons spewing from her chest. They flew at Ethotoms, who broke free of the red dragons and fought off the new four.

"Later Quater, me and Tom are gonna go play!" she grinned. "Oh, by the way, that Dragon Jacket I gave you could prove useful."

Dibble and Ethotoms disappeared to Dibble's Dimension, to battle on her home turf.

"Quater?"

Quatermass had never been called that. He watched bemusedly as Dibble and Ethotoms disappeared. A little part of his brain logged where they went (A personal dimension of her own, eh? Then she only needs a few more things, and then she's probably as powerful as I am), but the rest kept his gaze on the soul-gobblers. He knew them as animaphages.

"Now, lady." (He was referring to Angelica) "I know what you are thinking....'Follow her, we can overwhelm her with Ethotoms' help', but you see, that won't happen. She's grown too powerful for even you. It's funny, isn't it, how hybrids, derided by the societies they came from, still turn out to be, well, 'better' than either. The whole being greater than the sum of the parts. Alaric, he's part Time-Lord, and he doesn't realise half of his power. Me, I'm half-Eternal and half-Chronovore, and I don't realise even half my power, because to do so...is to invite the universe to end. But Dibble, part-human and part-Soul Gobbler, put through so much, and coming out of that refined..."

One of the energy wings unfolded and hit several of the animaphages. They screamed and vanished.

"You never change. You never even try to evolve beyond predators. The soul of the cosmos? Ultimate power? Oh yes, and you'll start squabbling for it, even if the universe survives its soul being consumed!"

Quatermass clicked his fingers. The strains of One-Winged Angel filled the air.

"You know, I love this music. But here's the thing. I've got two wings, and while some people may think so, I'm no angel....."

With that, Quatermass leapt at the animaphages and started attacking them. Whenever one of his wings touched one, they screamed and vanished.

But with that choice Quatermass gave Dibble was another gift. It not only gave her strength a boost, but it inserted, super-compressed into her mind, the exact usages of all of his techniques. He just needed to shout out the keywords Deus ex Machina, an irony, as that was what it pretty much was....

Alaric emerged into a barren wasteland with a dark tower in the distance. As he had passed through the tunnel that was temporarily forming a bridge between worlds, he had heard Quatermass talking at some length, amongst other things expecting him to take upon representatives of half the species of beings that formed the alliance known as the Evil Eight (a quarter, Sun Demons and Animaphages (should not that be psychiphages or animavores? Ah well what was life worth if you could not indulge in hybrid Latin and Greek constructs) or Soul Gobblers had beeen exhausting enough. At least the current four, Soul Gobblers, Golems, Goblins and Vampires did not include Sun Demons, and in any case had been greatly reduced. He had also heard the summarised version of Chronvore (another Graeco-Roman hybrid) and Eternal history. He was familiar with Kronos/Chronos both the truth and the version that the Greeks remembered, and to some extent Artemis, but he had not known Quatermass/Chaos' own origins. "It's one third Time Lord, not a half," he muttered pedantically, when the full significance of Quatermass' revelations began to sink in. Alaric arrived too late to save Sindri, though he suspected that was not the last that would be seen of the black mage. Irial and Marie seemed to be comparatively safe in the airship where he joined them, realising teleportation should be comparatively safe. He felt a little sacrilegious as he joined in searching through Sindri's books, with the mage only recently dead. He suspected that the mage would not appreciate his prayers. He asked Marie and Irial which world they wished to travel to (together moving the craft between dimensions should be comparatively simple). He was troubled about the identity of their abductors; they must be powerful enemies indeed. He had long been aware that a number of Sindri's foes were fairly potent, but recent developments suggested that he had barely scratched the surface of the nature of that power. He wondered about the words of Quatermass that he had heard in the void, about his own power and lack of knowledge thereof.
"There seem to be," he pondered aloud, "a frightful number of people running around these worlds either with more power than they know, or more power than they let on." As visions of other events in the void assaulted his mind he grieved for Ethotom's fall from grace.

Koschei shrugged. Continually having his plans thwarted at the last moment was all par for the course in the ruthless pursuit of dominion of the Multiverse and tenacious clutching at a life that many would have decided some time ago was not really worth living. What would they know? He looked around at the landscape of the place his TARDIS had forcelanded in. A barren wasteland. It reminded him of the Death Zone on Gallifrey. "Ah," he sighed with contentment as he remembered how he had fooled those Cybermen. It was fortunate that the Brigadier had thwarted his claim on immortality, given what had happened to Borusa; he had not been overly surprised that the pompous fool had succumbed to what the likes of that interfering Doctor called evil; he had recognised the potential. Even the Doctor had it in him, he chortled thinking of the Valeyard. He noticed with interest that this place even had a Dark Tower like the Tomb of Rassilon in the Death Zone on Gallifrey. Interesting.

The shade of Sindri lingered in the borders of that world...

"Coward coward COWARD!" Dibble taunted.

"Shut up and fight!" Ethotoms swung Toohey's at her. It scored a direct hit!

But did no damage.

"You see, Ethotoms, I am not only half-human, half Soul-Gobbler. I am made up of all the creatures my father ate. I am made of every species in the cosmos! I am fast! I am powerful! I am trouble! I AM DIBBLE, FOREVER THE CLOWN-FACE MONKEY!!" Dibble leapt into the air and whooped.

"Stay still you little annoyance!" Ethotoms swung and missed. Stinkbombs exploded around him.

"STOP PLAYING WITH ME!" Ethotoms roared, ripping his human skin and becoming his true self again.

"Now, you're part Dragon, so DRAGON FORCE won't work." Dibble thought. "Aww...Deus ex Machina!"

And she knew.

"Thank you friend Quatermass." she whispered.

"Ka-meh-ha-meh-ha WAVE!" ((Sorry, my sister is playing DBZ at the moment)) Dibble fired a massive energy blast at Ethotoms.

It grazed his arm, burning him slightly, but he didn't care. He flew at Dibble, who barely dodged his attacks.

"Give up clown! You'll never beat me!" he grinned.

"No, but my family can help." Dibble grinned. "Welcome to the Toyworld Dimension."

Toys, hundreds of them, all products of the Toymaker, stood behind Dibble.

None of them alone could match her power or speed, but together they could help Dibble.

"Now, where's the Toymaker?" Dibble looked over her shoulder.

The Toymaker, otherwise known as Odin, walked forward.

"Here I am Dibble. Now, let's do something about this threat to existance." he patted her on the back.

"Stay away from me! NO! NO! NOOOOOOOOO!!" Ethotoms cried.

When they were done...

"This is embarrasing!" groaned Ethotoms. Stripped of his powers, Odin had turned him into a...

"Clown-Faced Monkey! Clown-Faced Monkey!" Dibble chanted, much to the annoyance of the other toys.

Well, no, he'd been turned into a stuffed bear.

"Now to help friend Quatermass...I got it!" she cried.

Using Ethotoms old powers, she restored the old training ground and everyone who had been destroyed by the Soul-Gobblers (many friends and relatives of Quatermass, Alaric and Ethotoms) to life.

The energy of Dibble's titanic battle with her erstwhile friend Ethotoms in Dibble's Dimension, particularly combined with that of her earlier battle with Quatermass in the void and the latter's battle with Angelica and the Soul Gobblers in the same location, sent shockwaves across the cosmos, buffeting both the Master's TARDIS and the airship (where Alaric, Irial, and Marie were frantically searching Sindri's extensive library for useful information, or even useless trivia) into a strange world. Strange at least to all except Marie... For this was Cryssna at last.

The Master was very put out that his new TARDIS had gone walk-about. It was evident that this was not the Death Zone; however, it appeared unlikely to be much safer, as strange hybrid eagle-goblin creatures were starting to attack him. The body that had been that of Prior Hafgan of the Scientian Order was reduced to a bare skeleton within fractions of a second. Koschei's consciousness, the shade of Sindri, and the harpy's own will battled for possession of the hybrid body. Who would emerge victorious was anyone's guess. In the mean time the creature was completely torn by its multiple personalities, and turned on its fellow Ifrit. Some roaming rakshas were drawn to the sight. Then another portal opened, and Ra'a Ruach returned from the Void to subdue them all, except Sindri's spirit. The two wrestled for control, for Mastery. Meanwhile, Koschei, for once almost ashamed to call himself the Master before the two who were struggling for supremacy, bided his time...

"A curious world," observed Alaric. He noticed Marie's expression. "Familiar? A definite improvement on that Wasteland." His tone belied his inner concern; he sensed dark developments afoot. He ran his gaze over the scroll he was currently holding. It contained an incantation apparently intended to render the reader impervious to assaults from eldritch beings; Alaric snorted inwardly (he was far too polite to do this aloud) the spell he had before him would be lucky to work against a willow-the-whisp or ignis fatuus as it was more properly known. "Foolish fire." He turned to the weighty tome that was spread before Irial. "Better luck, Irial?" He was reassured to have the seeress with them; her talents in many directions were undoubted. "At least Marie should be glad to be home," he observed hopefully. He knew very little about cabbits, still less about their interaction with eldritch entities like the Mind Lich.

Irial peered out the small cabin window with awe. This was another world! So far, all she could see was presumably a vast sahara, punctuated by small caravans and villages. What she saw though, completely astounded her.
She looked around the cabin. Marie was perusing massive amounts of old books and scrolls, as well as a dark haired man who identified himself as Alaric. So this was who she contacted telepathically earlier! At the time, she was too anxious to realize who she was talking to; she had merely sensed his presence in the air. Irial was curious, but mildly cautious. After all, she had never seen him before. She was not worried, however; she was sure that what with her swordsmanship and Marie's magic, the two of them could stop him if he tried to do something.
"Yeah," Irial said, addressing Alaric's vague attempt at conversation. "Personally, I'm pretty happy to be somewhere where no one is going to try and kill us."

"Well yes," replied Alaric. "That is generally considered a bonus." He turned at the approach of a procession of nomads on six-limbed beasts indigenous to Cryssna. He stepped cautiously forwards and addressed them in fluent Khalamabanic, the language of their tribe. While he had never been here before, he had studied the various languages of Cryssna under a native of this world who had been wandering the cosmos earning a living by giving lessons in order to save up enough to send home to support the family who had impoverished themselves paying for his transport offworld.

As he talked with them, Alaric noticed a strange object looking like a transparent image of a menhir or dolmen of stone superimposed upon an equally transparent image of a sand dune - the Master's TARDIS! Clearly the damage that Quatermass had wrought upon it had hindered the Chameleon Circuit from fully camouflaging the reality interface, but surely this was what the object was. But Koschei's presence he did not sense. He realised that it was probable that the vessel had been propelled here empty by the same means as the airship. He ascertained from the nomads that the nearest oasis lay to the north. They offered to escort the travellers, whom they seemed to regard with some awe. Upon returning to discuss this proposal with Irial and Marie, Alaric stumbled upon a veritable treasury - Sindri's collection of prophecies! He feverishly searched through one of the volumes. The tome held the handwriting of three scribes, one recording the literal visions of the seer, another interpretations of the visions, the third whether they had been fulfilled or not yet, along with details about the context of the vision.
"Have a listen to this!" he exclaimed to Irial. "'Behold I stand at the crossroads, with the south to my right and the north to my left; before me rises a new star, a sun of terror. Woe to ye who stand on the margins of the paths, on the left and on the right, mocking those that pass therein! I shall bring upon you that which you fear and that which you desire, and lo, they shall be as one.' Unfortunately part of this is damaged by flame. Actually, I have an idea. Would you care to place your hand on this page, gaze upon the writing, close your eyes and meditate for a bit? You may be able to see something."

"Dibble go e'sploring! Dibble go e'sploring!" Dibble chanted as she went...exploring.

The Training Grounds looked different now that they had been restored. Many of the students were wandering around, going to and from classes. Ethotoms was in the detention room (Odin being Headmaster of the establishment) serving 500 years for his crimes. Dibble had been offered a place in the school too. As a first year, she wore the colour white. First years usually had to have supervision, as the Grounds were full of monsters that the older, more experienced students trained with (some monsters destroyed, others tamed and made into loyal pets), but Dibble had proven her worth as the almighty clown-faced monkey.

Sneaking past a nest of Land-Golems, she found herself a cave full of treasure!~

"PRETTY!" Dibble squealed.

"I wouldn't twerp." Ethotoms appeared behind her.

"Hey! You're in detention!" Dibble pointed.

"That's a Dragons cave. They love to gather treasure. I hate to see one have to waste it's time on you." Ethotoms sneered.

"And I went to bed with you." Dibble spat in disgust. She went inside the cave. She'd always wanted a Dragon friend to help her with her Dragon Force.

"Hello?" she called.

Irial highly doubted she'd be able to do anything merely by touching the paper.
"Why?" Irial asked, a faint blush of embarrasment coming to her face as she realized what Alaric meant. "Oh. Duh."
Grabbing the paper, being careful not to damage it, considering the state it was in, Irial delicately traced her pointer finger directly over the black charred edges. She could see words in her mind, growing fainter by the second.
"Get a paper and copy what I say, quickly, if you don't mind." Irial's foredhead knotted up with the effort of keeping the ligatures from fading into oblivion.
((The following is horrible. ))
"The worlds were created through the hand of many, for the purposes for those who may come later. The worlds, being innocent and pure, shall become tainted with intentions and which are not so. At that point, whence it comes, the fates of all the worlds shall be placed into the infant hands of the one who refuseth the destiny which, through the hands of the most high, has been given the power to heal and to destroy, at their desire. Thus the worlds shall be either saved or destroyed. So it has been written.
Irial felt drained of her energy. Wordlessly, she slunk out of the small cramped cabin, leaving her words to be debated by Alaric and Marie. She really wanted nothing to do with it.

As he took down the prophecy at Irial's dictation, Alaric's face turned pale as the words relentlessly poured out. Watching as Irial silently left the chamber of the airship now serving as the late Sindri's library, a frown deepened upon his face, the lines carving great furrows in his brow. He pondered the meaning of the words, suspecting that part of their meaning might be all too clear - or was it? The infant with great power to heal and to destroy... That reminded him of at least three individuals whom he had met recently. Refusing destiny however... That part might be significant.

Turning to Marie, he asked her about her own reaction to the prophecy, studying her face intently as he waited for a response.

Dibble walked into the cave...

"Oh, yeah, Ogres horde a bit of stuff too." Ethotoms grinned as a huge family of Ogres attacked Dibble.

"Up yours too Bear." Dibble made an escape.

Back at the school, Odin called Dibble into his office.

"I want to clear some mysteries about your power up with you. You know that I am the father of Chaos and Thanatos. What you don't know is that they had a sister. She was sentenced to life as a human for stealing a rose."

"Was she my mother?" Dibble asked.

Odin nodded. "You're Chaos's neice. That's why you two got on so well."

"So you're my Grandpa?" Dibble inquired further.

"Yes. And I want you to go and help your Uncle with the Gobblers." Odin smiled.

Dibble smiled and returned to the scene of the battle of the Gobblers and Chaos.

((Where's Quatermass?))
