I read 20k leagues under the sea a few years ago. It's an awesome timeless novel.

I liked both the books about Captain Nemo and also the few other books I've read by Verne. They are classics for a reason :wtg:

The other book about Captain Nemo is The Mysterious Island, which I read in 2010. I remember the part when the three protagonists were summoned by Nemo via telegraph. I read it at night and it was scary. 8O

I'm reading that at the moment, in French. I'm only up to chapter five though. 8)

Sorry, Cockroach, I don't recall that particular scene. It's been many years since I read them, about 20 years. I liked the books, and I've seen the movie 20 000 leagues under the sea since.

The Nautilus submarine in the movie looks bizarre and futuristic.

Yeah, definitely! What with Hollywood's tendency to not be very loyal to books, I'm almost surprised they didn't make him into a time traveler when they first made the submarine look like that.

Spiderpig, they are saying that Internet Explorer is slow, and therefore a turtle is the perfect user, because turtles are slow too.

Actually a limax(shell-less snail) would be the perfect user for IE, as they are the slowest creatures in the world.

They might have a harder time pressing the keys though. Turtles OTOH have no problems pressing them. My Nemo once stepped on my keyboard and played a few tones.

The turtles in the background are mating?
