Sarah Palin thought that Paul Revere was doing all that riding and yelling to warn the BRITISH!

Seriously.

And some people wanted her to be second in line to the Presidency.

Much of what many thought was junk DNA was actually from us adapting to a variety of diseases which we still carry today and are still active. consider what happened to the American Indian when they came into contact with the first Europeans. and some idiots wants to try stripping much of that junk DNA away to see what happens.

Sweeney Todd actually existed.

So did Mrs. Lovett.

NASA actually has a radio station; however, all they have on their playlist is alternative rock.

One of the survivors of the Donner Party opened a restaurant.

Take a swab of your nose and sequence the DNA. About 1/5 of the genetic code has no relation to anything known to science.

There are more cell phones than toilets in India. And India is one of the most densely populated countries in the world.

Shah Jahan's Peacock Throne was worth more than the entire Taj Mahal.

Obscure fact:

"You" is the second most spoken English word.

It took the states of Massachusetts, Connecticut and Georgia until 1939 to ratify the Bill of Rights, 150 years after it was first ratified (by New Jersey, Maryland and North Carolina in 1789).

Obscure fact:

The average lead pencil will draw a line 35 miles long or write approximately 50,000 English words. More than 2 billion pencils are manufactured each year in the United States. If these were laid end to end they would circle the world nine times.

Most of the people I see use mechanical pencils. I found some with a big, soft grip that makes writing much more comfortable for me.

ants can't drive, at least not pavement ants. They are like a walking demolition derby of cargo movers. I've watched them scrambling looks like full ant speed carrying little packages in front of them an one of their fellow workers be heading right for him, they just run into each other head on, drop and pick up their little load, shake like wet poodles and head right back off to the colony or building site.

According to Michael Vollbracht, a friend of hers, Joan Crawford had two Manhattan apartments.

One, she lived in.

The other, just across the hall, was for her clothes.

Seriously.

A flat surface can be considered a circle with an radius that approaches infinity. It makes solving some integrals easier, as well as other equations.
