Granted, you get a job at the local zoo walking the alligators. You replace the previous person who had the job who mysteriously disappeared one day. Only his boots were ever found.

I wish the garden would dry up enough for me to plant my onion sets.

Granted, however the onions are not normal onions but bizarre alien lifeforms which spread madly and will eventually change the athmosphere to be unbreathable for humans. They would have deteriorated if you gave them a few more days until you planted them. That way, humanity might have had a few years more.

I wish that I no longer needed to sleep without bad effects on my health or sanity.
