William The Conqueror's body exploded during his funeral, splattering smelly bits of him and splinters of the coffin all over the cathedral.

The terrified and nauseated mourners, hundreds of them, stumbled for the exits, gagging from

the smell, and knocking each other down.

Possibly the worst Royal Funeral ever.

Anne Frank does not really have a grave, though there is a tombstone in Geemany with her name and her mother's name on it.

Her body was thrown into a mass grave with hundreds of other victims of typhus at Bergen-Belsen.

Did you know that the word "Easter" comes from the word "Ester" which is a goddess of fertility.
Eggs are a symbol of fertility, and the Easter Bunny is because rabbits are known for 'doing it' a lot hence fertility and reproduction..

I choose the actor. I observe NT's. I listen to their socializing. I practice it, so in social situations I can just emulate/mimic what is expected.
It isn't natural for me, but it enables me to "fit in".
It is VERY tiring and draining, but at least we can appear like them even though it is an act. Like being on the stage.
They can't see it is emulation, and so we are accepted.

One of the worst things you can call a Chinese person is "you turtle egg!".

In China they think of turtles as being promiscuous (kinda like how we imagine rabbits). So to lay that label on a chinese is to -you know- question their parentage.

Marilyn Monroe and Truman Capote were close friends; he wrote 'Breakfast at Tiffany's' for and about her.

He was NOT happy that Audrey Hepburn portrayed Holly Golightly in the movie.

In 1980 Saddam Hussein was given the key to the City of Detroit.

While he was governor George W Bush made Ilham Aliyev, the dictator of Azerbaijan to this day, an honorary citizen of Texas.

Before 5500 BP (before present), (Or 3500 BC) most all the civilizations practiced infanticide, be it through sacrifice or that of need for population control. children between ages newborn and 10 years old, and it was not that uncommon to see a bit of the practice of cannibalism by the priests of those times.. Children also many times got sold or traded off into slavery, many times by their own families, or from when they were taken in war.

Also In early roman times, it was also a common practice to leave unwanted newborns beside a road or out side the cities to either die or be cared for by a passer byre that may want to adopt the child.

The name of the state of California, in America, comes from a mythical queen, Calafia, who ruled over a legendary empire.

Spanish conquistadores searched for this empire, and Cibola, the empire of the 'Seven Cities Of Gold', but of course, never found them.

But they effectively destroyed the cultures of the people who had lived here for thousands of years.

The first glass making is thought to came out of Egypt, for shortly after glass was discovered in the egyptian deserts around 3300 BC (created by an heated above ground explosion of an asteroid from who knows when), the practice of glass making then started appearing in our history and archaeological digs.

Pottery, had not started showing up, in our archaeological digs, until after about 12,000 BP (before present), earlier digs from about 15,000 BP only found straw and basalt used for bowls baskets and mortar and pestle.

Waterloo Teeth were dentures created from teeth stolen from the bodies of French soldiers lying on the battleground after the Battle Of Waterloo.

These very popular and expensive dentures were for the wealthy and privileged, who were quite aware of the source of their new teeth.

Adolf Hitler actually had a male heir, a guy named William Patrick Hitler (who was Adolf's nephew). After their relationship got strained, William moved to the U.S. and enlisted in the US Navy and fought against the Nazis in World War II. After the war ended, he changed his last name to Stuart-Houston and died in 1987.
