<---- Elizabeth Warren fan. Plenty of PPR things I could say, but I won't. :P

What kind of dance do you do, Mooms? I'm fascinated by hip-hop dance choreography, not that I can really do it much.

Ah, you must have missed that conversation Murihiku. I do all kinds of dance, mostly I am a ballet kind of girl, but I recently took up pole dance. And as I have already explained to everyone else, not the 'gyrating round a pole in your underwear' type, the artistic, physically practically impossible kind. I always use this video to explain, it's so beautiful and she is one of my favourite dancers.

That was amazing!

I came across a pole dancing crew (of the artistic kind) a few years ago and it was amazing to watch their choreography. They explained that the reason they didn't wear a lot of clothing was that their skin helps to grip the pole better. Is this true, Mooms? It'd be understandable after watching that video.

She is amazing. I don't look like that.

Yes, skin = friction. Of course a lot of strength is needed too - my worst failing. My legs are ok, so I actually do a lot of the 'upside down' stuff ok, but I am still struggling with anything requiring too much arm strength. When I walked into my first pole class the teacher just looked at me and said "ballet dancer, huh?" as I have very slim arms.

But once you are in a position, as well as strength in your muscles to hold you there, you also rely on friction to keep you in place. It makes for a lot of interesting bruises, and the first few weeks of pole practice are like voluntary giving yourself 'chinese burns' all over.

You can usually tell how good a pole dancer is by their clothing. Newbies wear t-shirts and mid length shorts, after a few months you are down to a small crop top and booty shorts to give maximum grip. 8)

It sounds sore. I know how I chafe sometimes when I forget to apply lube and go on a long run, and believe me, its far worse than simply falling down and losing a pint or two of blood.

Ants do "pin dancing" which is similar to pole dancing... 8)

Haven't run for over three weeks now due to my sore heel, but it's nearly 100% better now, so I may be able to start in a few days or a week.

Theta, Qoqqolobqo is fictional. I used to call it Territoria and the Q name was one of the villages, but then I gave the Q name to the country and changed the village name slightly. It has a flag, an anthem, a democratic system of government, etc., and has been a work in progress for years, with a number of changes, as well as long periods of dormancy.

:D
what does the flag look like? is it one of those heraldry‐waving‐in‐the‐wind types of flags or a tricolore or? curious...my royal standard looks like a cosmic snail, as Boo put it.
we've got an anthem too, a very lengthy one at they but the same can't really be said about democracy.. nonetheless the leaders of Qoqqolobqo are formally invited to a state dinner at Vwohie Harzaie for November. let's just hope however, that this time MVA takes it easy on the charred shallots this time.

(you made me look up images of needle dancing! i thought it was some sort of ant courting ritual, maybe it is.)

good to hear about your heel also. must be exhilarating finally getting to run and take in all that fresh air.. 8)

Personally, I think that Thetain3d should try pole dancing on one of those trees in the avatar.

Then post pictures.

I'm about as graceful as a caffeinated Pug with four left feet on greased roller skates on a North Dakota lake in January.

I'm willing to provide pictures of this, but less willing to risk the inevitable injuries. :P

good evening mooms! 8)

just about to go to bed now, that mr. plank said that the DATA TRANSFER would be this week and the new bright UI would be coming up later...something like that or something or other.
it sounds like he's using a 3rd party to do the moving.
