Well, for starters, medical and medicine weren't as advanced, no electricity, plumbing was just starting. At least they had trains.

Indeed, but they also had bicycles and lacked cars. Air was much cleaner.

That's true. All that beautiful unspoiled land. Of course, one of the reasons they headed west was for the Gold Rush of 1849.

There were pros and cons to be sure.

I didn't know that Indian attacks..that's too bad to know. I like Indian for many reasons.
