You are right...God will bless America, but save the Queen.

From what, we are not sure, but we are happy that Her Majesty is safe.

Originally, a species of dinosaur was named 'Oviraptor' because it was believed to steal and eat eggs from other dinosaurs' nests.

Decades later, paleontologists discovered that those were their OWN nests and eggs they were found by.

Crowley's ridge is a long sandy ridge rising from the Mississippi floodplain.
It was formed over thousands of years by the deposition of sand blown eastward from the great plains.

The arms and hands of the famous statue 'Venus de Milo' were originally found with her, but an 'expert' thought that they were from a different statue.

So she has always been exhibited without them.

Do you mean "God BLESS America"?

And, actually, I think it is "My Country 'Tis of Thee" that has the same melody------not, "God Bless America".

There was one time where the Queen of England broke with royal tradition- the day after 9/11, she ordered the Star-Spangled Banner be played at the Royal Palace, to honor the Americans that were in stranded in England and could not return home as a result.

If that's not embarrassing, I don't know what is!

I'm already offended, thinking that when future archaeologists find my fossilized remains, they will think I was a prolific electronics thief. :?

Bore a hole right through the Earth. Drop an object into the whole. The time it takes for this object to return to your hand is the same it takes an object orbiting the Earth close to Earth's surface to complete one round trip. Now, and this is interesting, the hole you bored need not go through the center of the earth. Any straight hole will do.

When Stalin was in exile in Siberia in 1914, he impregnated a 13 year old girl named Lydia. The baby died shortly after birth. Stalin was 35 years old.

If Antarctica were to melt, the sea level would rise over 200 feet.

From the "Are you really surprised" department: As of 2014, Arnold Schwarzenegger leads all actors in on-screen kills with 369.

516 feet once thermal expansion is factored in. The cold water around Antarctica will no longer be so cold.

I figured out that will bring the water right up to my doorstep at high tide, but not inside.

Eastern Antarctica is already starting to melt in a way that is thought to be unstoppable. Even if that's true though, it's still worth it to try and limit the damage as much as we can.

The famous Easter Island Heads are not what they seem.

They are actually statues, complete except for legs.

They were transported across the island from the quarry where they were carved, and placed looking over the island.

Many were deliberately toppled by warring cultures, and buried up to their chins.

Some have been replaced as they were originally.

In 2008, a Finnish tourist deliberately chipped a piece off of the ear of one of the statues.

He was fined $17,000 and banned from the island for 3 years.
