I've always thought of books as portals that take you into another world.
Good books, games, movies and series do that for me and I love it when fictional worlds captivate me to that extent.

Yes, they are okay for a visit, but I don't think I would want to live in those old times. Yeah, I def wouldn't wanna live then either, just visit (if even that). For the most part I'm okay with history being just that. I would have liked to see the other places I lived when I lived there and see my loved ones at a younger age, and for some of them seeing them again after they've been gone for so long, and lost pets I miss daily. I'm much more interested in seeing my past and loved ones, than seeing big world events. I would like to see my area through the last century though.
