Lilli woke up. "Hmm..?"
They vaguely thought they heard a cat.

They were groggy though and their brain was adjusting, but when they looked they just saw Enye.

...Staring.
Their expression turned confused.

Meanwhile, Gristle was awake when it happened.

"What was that?"

There was a meowing outside, high and plaintive like a hungry kitten.

He looked out. But there was nothing there.

Meanwhile the cries were getting louder and louder. It was piercing.

He thought he heard Enye say something, but he couldn't tell what she was saying. It was too loud.

And then it was gone, mysteriously.

He turned. Enye was staring at the ground silently, like she was looking into an abyss.

The expression she wore was vacant, and he couldn't quite tell what she was feeling.

"Um... is something wrong?"
he asked.

Mike starts doing complex calculations on his robotic arm's computer. "A bunch of wormholes opening like that would drastically increase the chances of travelers coming here, making the chance that we would all come here in such a short time roughly 1 in 6. Certainly more believable then the absurd figure that Sam calculated." The screen of his arm suddenly displayed a notification that the ship was fully fueled. "Hey Laura, the ship is now full of fuel. You can get your..." He glances at his pokedex, "...Weezing back now."

"Nice one, AZ!" Laura chirped, twirling the pen between her manicured fingers, after the initial dumbfoundedness went away. When Mike said the ship was good to go, she shouted to where Angeles was hovering, "Hey, it's full! You can stop now!", recalling him into his poke ball.

"Well, au revoir, were off." Laura said, walking back towards the ship. "To where?" AZ asked.

"Kanto!" She shouted, throwing her fist in the air, assuming Mike was following her.

Mike takes out the wormhole containment capsule. "Actually, this ship brought the wormhole with it so we don't need to go to Kanto. I have a completely different destination in mind, how many of you have been to space? Let me tell ya', it's really fun especially if it's your first time. It would probably be best if we get some sleep before taking off though." He follows Laura into the ship.

~Moar Nexus~

The carrier that they were going to shoot earlier had moved and everyone in the control room waited for some other carrier to fall into their trap. After a few minutes Mason remembered the bots that had been thrown into space, they would surely be back soon and even if they weren't there were a lot on the station and possibly even more still in the enemy carriers.

He managed to remove the cover of an air duct on the celling and hide in it, which was rather easy without any gravity. The air ducts had security systems in place to make sure that people don't crawl through them to get places, but they do make a great place to hide. When the bots came again they escorted everyone to the escape pods at gun point, but they couldn't find Mason anywhere.

"What!? We're going to space?" Her eyes glimmered.

She looked at the clock on her Pokedex. 1:00 in the morning? She had to admit, she was pretty tired. She was going to shout 'Hey! We're going to space!' when she stepped back on the ship, but seeing that everydody but Eyne was asleep, who was just staring blankly in front of her, she quickly ran to her seat, curled up with Anna in her arms, and the both of them promptly fell asleep.

The next morning, she tentatively peeked out the window next to her, making sure nobody was standing outside, looking at the ship. Seeing that the only moving objects were a few Trapinches and tumbleweeds, she sighed in relief. She looked around the ship, at least Calem was awake. She leaned across the aisle, grinning exitedly at Calem. "Hey!" She half-yelled, half-whispered. "Mike said he would take us to see space! Isn't that awesome?"

It diddn't look like Calem had been up for long, but he was busy with Gumball, his Meowstic. He looked up from the blue cat at Laura, amazed. "And how did you sweet talk him into that?"
"I diddn't. It was his idea." She grinned.

(For those of you who played the Pokemon XY games, am I doing a good job describing Kalos and writing Calem/everybody else in that category?)

"Nothing out there," Guinan had muttered to Gristle when he asked if there was anything wrong.

Later, as Mike and Laura came in, she opened her eyes to look at them briefly but didn't speak. Awake but dreamy, Guinan's mind wandered to the beautiful view of shooting stars she'd seen earlier. That brought to mind other times she had seen starry vistas. She thought of the observation lounge on the Enterprise and of Captain Picard. After a while, her thoughts drifted away...

At Laura's half-yell, half-whisper, Guinan opened her eyes, looked around briefly, and closed them again. She hadn't really caught what Laura said.

Mike woke up to the sound of Laura talking and smiled upon remembering his plans for the day. He had always loved going into space and it never got old even after all the traveling that he has done. Now, for the first time, he would be looking down on a different Earth with different continents. He noted that Laura was clearly very hyped about the whole thing. I was a lot like that right before my first space flight. He turns on the interior lights and gets up. It'll be fun to fly a more antique ship like this one.

He then notices a new message from Nexus station and he reads it out loud: "I know it's a long shot asking you but we really need help here, the station has been taken over and Captain Plank's fleet isn't doing so well. Things seem pretty hopeless although I am hiding in the station and I might be able to open the wormhole." His expression quickly changed from anticipation to horror.

~Things that happened on Nexus station while everyone was asleep~

Mason watched from his hiding place as the bots took over the control room. One of the enemy carriers docked to one of the two central large docking ports on the station and the replacement crew came in to operate the station. No shots were being fired anymore outside the station for a while, but then Captain Plank's fleet showed up.

Three carriers and two gunships came into view. The carriers deployed squadrons of Pheonix class fighter drones and the gunships began firing their huge weapon systems. The weapon systems on Nexus fired at Plank's fleet and that tipped the balance in favor of the Heiwa Federation. One of the Heiwa Federation carriers became incapacitated due to damage but in Plank's fleet a gunship and a carrier were so heavily damaged that they were forced to retreat while the rest of the fleet continued fighting.

Nexus station began rotating again so the gravity came back on. While Mason was hiding in the air vent he took out a phone-like device and and sent a message to Mike.

"Well good morning to you, Mike!" She chimed.

She brushed her hair as Mike read his new message. She looked at the floor, Anna had apparently hopped out of her lap and slept on the floor in the middle of the night. She was dissapointed that their planned space trip would be more likely than not to be put on hold, but oh well.

"That was one of your friends? That sounded scary..." She trailed off sympathetically.

Enye, meanwhile, hadn't slept much during the night, lost in old memories with the meowing still echoing slightly in her ears. When she tried to get up and stretch, she nearly fell onto the floor from stiffness. She absently let her Skitty out, and watched the little pink kitten roll around on the floor, bumping into everyone and everything.

Anna stretched her front legs and ran after Skitty, but after the rather snooty Gumball turned his nose up at playing with them, Calem returned him to his ball.

Laura tilted her head to the side. "Um... Are you okay?" She asked Eyne.

"Hmm? Oh. Yes, I'm...fine." Enye mumbled, as if awakening from a deep dream. Whatever was bothering her, she seemed reluctant to explain anything about the mysterious meowing.

"Hmm..." Lilli furrowed their brow, trying to think of how to make the situation better.

Then they had an idea.

"Anyone want cake?" they piped.
They jumped up from their seat, holding a Styrofoam box.

"Cake is the solution to all of life's problems." they beamed.

Heh. Yeah, right. their mind said. But y'know, whatever. Maybe they could get her to open up.

They thought of someone else, and for a second they were scared, but in another second their smile was back.

Enye's face twitched, as if she was about to smile, but then she simply fished around in her cloak and pulled out a fairly large box. "I have vanilla cake here if anyone wants any. I was going to save it for-" She froze suddenly, as if unable to speak, but then shrugged. "I'm sure she wouldn't mind." Enye deftly flipped the box lid open and pulled a smaller box full of plates and cutlery out of her cloak with a dramatic, if mischievous, flourish.
"I could easily bring her back, you know. All I'd have to do is rip a dimension in half, pull her through, and snap the dimension back together again. Easy." Q remarked out of nowhere, giving the impression that his head was floating in mid-air.
Enye stiffened in a way that clearly made even Q uncomfortable. "Go away." She snapped shortly, and waved her hand vaguely in his direction. Q vanished with a shocked expression on his face, as if he couldn't quite work out what had happened to him.

Guinan blinked a few times as Mike turned on the lights. Eventually, she stood and stretched too, banging her hand on the roof of the ship without thinking. Pichu made an unhappy noise and rubbed up against Guinan's leg, so Guinan decided to let all three of her pokemon go outside. Pressing the buttons on the other two pokeballs, she released the pokemon, patted each one, and moved to open the door for them.

Looking at Mike with concern, she wondered what he would do about the message.

She ignored Q completely and wondered how long he'd stay away.

"That's great you both saved the cake, because there's nothing out there," Guinan said to Lily and Enye. "It seems that Foxy will have to go without for a while, no sticks around here. No water either..." She paused. "Enye, if you change your mind and want to talk about whatever's bothering you, I'll listen," she added in a gentler tone.

Enye sighed faintly. "No, it would be easier not to talk right now. I'm just going to sit here and enjoy my cake." She exclaimed, almond icing already stuck to her face. Her Skitty attacked a little piece of cake so excitedly that icing and cake bits stuck to her pink fur.

Unbeknownst to everyone, a small winged kitten watched Enye silently, hidden from sight by the cake box sitting on the floor. The kitten flickered, as if insubstantial, and then disappeared.
