I was thinking more along the line of each composers choral music. For Rachmoninoff, his Midnight Vespers, Op. 35 (some of the most beautiful, and incredibly difficult music I've ever sung, especially when one is not familiar with music of the Russian Orthodox tradition). For Prokofiev, I'm thinking of his October revolution cantata.

I'll take Tommy Dorsey any day.

tough choice, the former was more cerebral while the latter was more from the gut. the scale tips towards the latter because his playing was informed by his early years as a Wurlitzer artist.
