Communicating with the dead.
Hi James.
I read your post right away.
Yesterday and today I was sick.
I suffer from colon problems.
And I ate two wrong foods.
I had very intense colic.
Now I will exclude those foods from my diet forever.
I didn't respond to your post.
I wanted to do it right away.
But I wasn't well at all.
<>
I pay much more attention to your posts, and a reply to a friend for me requires more attention than a normal one.
<>
I wrote to you that I was sick, but I got over that bad phase.
So these are things that can happen.
Unfortunately I will only be able to limit them partially.
In any case now I just have to recover physically.
Nothing important: I knew it could happen, feeling bad has been normal for me for years.
I would have to completely review my diet and I won't be able to exclude many foods.
Also because if I did I would have other consequences.
Example: some people become celiac precisely because they exclude gluten.
While when they become celiac they cannot do anything they must abolish it from their diet forever.
For now I have to act with common sense.
Carbohydrates such as pasta, bread, pizza (cheese) as well as others that I had eliminated since I was a child, will only have to be eaten sporadically.
I will have to drop a few kilos below my ideal weight, which I am always very careful about.
I have learned that some vegetables are harmful for colitis.
And legumes.
<>
I don't know what's right to eat anymore.
I know what I have to avoid.
I am in the country with the largest number of dishes in the world (there are around 50 official recipes for risotto alone);
I almost always don't know what I should eat.
Between yesterday and today I ate almost nothing.
<>
My diet is becoming an obstacle course.
<>
I have also eliminated added sugars in any drink, bringing them to zero.
However, I notice that every product always has milk, eggs and sugar in its ingredients.
Sometimes we don't know what we eat.
Today it took me an hour to do the shopping.
In the end I bought almost nothing

I am sorry you are experiencing problems with food. After my gastric bypass surgery, I had to limit many of the foods that I ate and more importantly the amount of food that I could eat in a single meal. I lost a lot of weight as a result but my health dramatically improved as a result.
Sometimes it is important to find substitutes. For example I use to enjoy drinking Coca Cola drinks. I have found a drink called Bai that offers a good tasting drink but without any calories. I found that many of the artificial sweeteners work and replace sugar. So sometimes it is not a matter of removing items from your list of foods but rather finding things that you can use as substitutes.

Hi James.
I was interested in giving you feedback as soon as possible.
Everything ok now.
<>
So I haven't had any carbonated drinks since I was 18.
From the age of 11 to 13, I felt terrible, so on my own I drastically reduced dangerous substances.
They all are.
Many sugar substitutes give me diarrhea.
So I've been deleting them ever since.
Regarding the one described for Coca Cola, I don't think it arrives in Italy other than a few types.
Many foods as from you in the confectionery of which L a Ferrero is acquiring all your brands I believe also Kelloggs for example and not only.
It produces many variations of Nutella Kinder which is Italian, but the ingredients may be different.
Just one example.
But I have been limiting all foods for almost always.
Coca Cola...my father worked there as an entrepreneur
See you soon I came in just for you I hope you are well!!

Thank you !
I didn't know the The you describe, at least by that name.
Imagine James who closed my favorite Bar on my island which was very old style and very classy.
In another place I was drinking tea, it's a place in the center of the capital.
And it was fantastic.
There were tables for up to 4 people, and in each one a small divination book.
You could open a page and read the sentences.
Now it's no longer a place like this!
You could choose from the best teas in the world, strictly in leaves.
My favorites remain the Black Chinese.
According to the Chinese color classification, teas are divided into white, green, blue-green (also called oolong or wulong), yellow, red and black (also called puer or pu'er).
They are the best I know.
My father dealt in these things.
I should know all the drinks, the classic and historical ones, but I don't associate the name with some.
Could the described BAI be like a white tea, therefore with a variant and the absence of sugars?
In my opinion, The Coca Cola Company has produced the best industrial drinks ever.
None will ever be able to imitate even the taste of the original composition.
So, as happens here, for high-end products there are notable varieties that do not appear on other continents.
You reminded me of a historical episode.
Here you study history for at least 8 years or more at school.
And Between Marshal Zùkov and Eisenowher.
There was a funny episode.
He wanted to taste the drink.
But he didn't know how to drink it and he did it quickly.
Instead it had to be sipped.
He fell in love with Coca Cola and asked the general to send it to him.
President Truman was even asked how to do it.
The Soviets wanted to remove the black color.
US chemists succeeded.
The drink passed beyond the walls of the Cold War of the time.
There are versions of Coca Cola with caps. The new version of Coca-Cola was bottled using transparent glass bottles closed with caps that sported a red star in the center.
We're talking about the 40s of the last century!
*First I checked a claim about White Coca Cola.
And the version that perhaps coincides with the one you describe could be from 2018.
It was first produced in Japan under industrial license.
I could explain why it has a different color depends on the carbonation.
But I hated classical chemistry which was compulsory in my course of study for a year.
<>
I correct my mistake because Kellogg's only partially sold some production lines to Ferrero.
On 1 April 2019, the multinational sold some of its brands to Ferrero, including Famous Amos and Keebler, for 1 billion and 300 million euros.
For now, the turnover is growing and is around 14 billion dollars.
For now it is only the third largest confectionery group in the world.
I only write the third because in Italy you count for little if you are not really the first whatever you do.
For example, if one of our Ducati motorcycles doesn't arrive among the first, it's a failure.
In the top championship they have placed 5 in the top 6 positions and 7 in the top ten.
Even though I am Italian, I am pleased that the brands remain in the countries where they originated.
We are both acquiring and losing incredible brands.
The French even wanted to acquire the Ferrari car brand!
A few days ago I was in Maranello which is the Ferrari headquarters.
And from outside there were many Japanese taking photographs towards the inside.
Now we get beat by an energy drink (Red Bull) with a Honda engine (if I'm not mistaken).
Yet they produce the best engine in the world.
At least I'm certain until 2018.
But maybe even later.
But not in the race.
Now we are only third.
<>
I remember a phrase that Italians never forget, pronounced by Henry Ford, when he saw an Alfa Romeo he took off his hat.
Henry Ford in my opinion is the best ever in design and invention and motoring in the world.
<>
However, when we collaborate industrially we manage to do wonderful things.
We get along better than with the Europeans.
<>
So: I chose to feel good already at 13 years of age.
Because I ate and was always sick.
Then after a digestive endoscopy I had when I was about 13, they discovered the reason.
And I limited or excluded numerous foods from my diet forever.
Now the problem has changed for 7 years and is towards the colon.
So, if I eat the wrong foods I have very intense colic.
A few days ago I was very sick.
Today I always had dinner with unseasoned polenta.
It's just that it gives me digestive acidity.
<>
I understand your point.
And it's very invasive.
But in your case you are also diabetic, and I think the choice was the best.
You also have to be careful about what you eat.
<>
Sorry, I skipped a post that I hope to get back to tomorrow.
As for food substitutes, there are certainly some.
Except that some colon behaviors require attention.
A bit subtle.
Some set the area on fire.
Then after whatever you eat you feel sick.
It is important to understand which ones make the colon inflamed.
Unfortunately, James, I have to exclude some.
If I eat a pizza for example, I avoid putting too much mozzarella and sauce (due to acidity), while mozzarella gives abdominal colic.
I noticed that if I eat little of it and rarely this happens less or never.
While it always happens that I am very ill if I eat eggs, peas, garlic, onion, or other foods.
When I go shopping I read all the ingredient labels of each product.
Some don't have to contain them at all.
In Italy we have perhaps one of the best cuisines in the world. Maybe because I certainly don't know them all.
The food quality supply chain is certainly the best in the world.
One of the foods that doesn't hurt me is meat.
I still try not to overdo it and my consumption range is at most 1/2 times a week.
If I can I avoid pasta (there are impressive regional qualities), and bread.
Because they are the worst for the stomach.
Even though they are among the foods that give me the least problems ever.
Whenever I don't have to eat alone I have to refuse a lot of dishes.
I typically only eat one food for lunch and only one for dinner.
In the morning there is the famous "rich breakfast" for everyone.
For me it can be a fruit, or artisanal bread with a little jam, preferably homemade.
I generally avoid meals beyond 1 course.
But other times people seem to get offended and I accept other things too.
Christmas and meals will be a nightmare.
We owe many desserts (except homemade ice cream) to the French, because they have occupied us for so long.
So we invented desserts thanks to them.
Now better than theirs.
Except for the little things where in my opinion they are still the best in the world.
(I'll get back to the answers tomorrow)

I believe you had discussed one of your problems. In my mind I think it was known as stomach ulcers. My father suffered from this condition. I believe they have found a type of cure for this problem. I will dig and provide you with some information.
H. pylori infection. This common bacterial infection affects up to half of people worldwide. It primarily lives in the stomach. In many people, it doesn’t seem to cause problems. Their gut immune systems keep it in check. But a portion of those infected have H. pylori overgrowth. The bacteria continue to multiply, eating into the stomach lining and causing chronic inflammation and peptic ulcer disease. H. pylori infection is associated with about 60% of duodenal ulcers and 40% of gastric ulcers.
How is a stomach ulcer diagnosed?
Your healthcare provider will ask you about your symptoms and medical history. They will want to know if you frequently use NAIDs or have a history of H. pylori infection. If signs point to an ulcer, they will want to take a look inside your stomach and duodenum.
How are stomach ulcers treated?
Antibiotics. If H. pylori was found in your digestive tract, your healthcare provider will prescribe some combination of antibiotics to kill the bacteria, based on your medical history and condition. Commonly prescribed antibiotics include tetracycline, metronidazole, clarithromycin and amoxicillin.

In your last post, you talked about the drink I use called BAI. It is not like a tea. It is a flavored drink. I like many of the fruit flavors. They also make various Coconut flavors, which I do not like.
Bai Drinks
Bai uses an imitation sweetener called Erythritol.
------------------------
I wanted to get back to the previous post.
Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection occurs when H. pylori bacteria infect your stomach. Within the world this type of infection is very common. If my memory is still in tact, I seem to recall the story of how the cure was found. It was a young scientist. He believed he understood what was happening, that it was an infection that caused this condition. But no one believed him. So what did he do? Well he infected himself just to prove his point. He showed the world the cause of this condition. And that lead to a cure. I think this happened about 30 years ago, long after my father had passed away. But I think you may have this condition. If so, there is a CURE.

I thank you.
I explain to you.
I have two different problems.
1) Gastric problems
2) Irritable colon problems
So at the age of 11 he had the first gastric symptoms.
Until I was 13, during which I was often very ill.
It depends both on a malformation of the Pylorus, which is not patent enough and compensates for the stomach part which does not have adequate peristalsis, but is very slow.
Since I was sick for up to three days consecutively, the pain was very intense, I absolutely wanted to be able to understand.
In my city there are three different hospitals.
Even if small.
In two there are both gastroenterologist doctors and medical teams for the examination of the digestive tract and also the colon.
I have had three digestive endoscopies.
The first at 13 years of age.
Two by mouth and one transanal.
During the years .
<>
The first highlighted structural problems.
My parents didn't want to tell me what test I had to take, for fear that I wouldn't take it!
Surreal, isn't it?
I was so happy to finally understand what I had.
And at 13 you don't even know what they'll do to you.
So I also went completely unprepared
A bed, the equipment, the gastric tube, and a piece of tissue to keep in the mouth to avoid possibly biting the tube.
<>
I refused the anesthesia they usually give Valium.
I was therefore very smart and collaborative.
I'm usually lucky: I stay very cold on these occasions.
<>
Because it wasn't that pleasant.
They found gastritis not dependent on Helicobacter Pylori.
They also took a small sample of tissue to analyze.
I had therapy for my case.
After a few months I was fine.
<>
In the meantime I eliminated some foods that I knew were very bad for me.
My mother sometimes used garlic in the kitchen and sometimes she fried it.
There are many recipes in Italy and each region has hundreds of them, all different from other regions.
So, when they talk to you about Italy and write about standard dishes, these exist, but they are rarely cooked in the same way and some foods that I see on the menus in restaurants are only for foreigners, as they were invented for the collective imagination.
*They are used to sell foods that in reality do not exist as preparations, or adapt them to those that are strangely invented in some nations.
In any case the quality and service are precise and high quality.
I only know one dish out of a hundred, just to give you an example.
But I know some don't exist at all.
The cuisine also changes from province to province: imagine James, even the compositions, always of excellent quality, but you have to pay attention to the ingredients if
You have some eating disorders.
*It is carefully written in at least two languages on the menus.
And indicate allergens or gluten.
Some pastry chefs and others are exclusively for celiacs, for example.
The flours are special and those who work work very precisely.
As a Japanese would do to prepare Sushi, hygiene and training are long, and must be perfect.
Among other things, their tuna comes from our seas and travels in 72 hours by plane according to precise hygiene regulations.
In practice they buy it all and we have very little left.
In 2020, the amount paid was more than 2.7 million euros (333.6 million yen) for a single specimen of bluefin tuna weighing 278 kg (612 lb); a figure equal to approximately 9,712 euros per kg.
This everywhere in the world. The maximum dose not to be exceeded is 50 grams per week.
Food to avoid, I'll give you some information, because here in Europe there are very careful control values.
<>
Another food I eliminated was milk.
So the breakfasts, mixed with coffee (that should also be avoided: I generalize but thanks to my father I know many varieties and they are not all the same at all.
For example, some in a single cup contain a high dose of caffeine, which is an alkaloid.
Worse if diluted with a lot of water. Vietnam and South Africa (Dutch) They will dominate the markets together with Brazil. A cup of some coffees is also worth 7 cups of a normal one.
Others are incredible in terms of potency: Black insomnia is very powerful. It exceeds 700 mg in concentration per cup.
To give you an example, an Italian one has only 80 mg of caffeine, a US one diluted with water 150 mg. Black insomnia is almost 5 times more than the coffee you drink.
Then it has a gastric impact to be avoided. Here we used to prepare it in a mix from which the Cappuccino was derived, which they used to make very well. Now the milk is weakened and the result is mediocre.<>I avoid cream and butter. Peas and eggs. <>The second endoscopy was done intranasal. I had the intuition to request the exam from my doctor. I avoided a gastric hemorrhage. From drugs.
<>The third and last (I hope) was done by a medical team, there were many people. Terrible experience. They asked me if I wanted to be sedated, but I said no. I had to drive and I was there alone at that moment.
They also asked me for a another time, but I was so calm that they accepted.
After that and the biopsy, I hurt a little.
But I was very happy with the result: I was finally well.
<>
What you write about is very important, it can also be seen from the breathe test.
And I recommend doing it, the treatment is as you write. Exactly.
Then afterwards a potential Helicobacter is eradicated. Luckily for me I have never had this condition, but what you write is fundamental as advice, I absolutely agree with you.
<>
Now my actual problem is colitis. We'll see.
Because when it inflames I feel bad.
And it depends on the food to avoid, there are precise lists, and how it is structured.
Even in this case, I invite anyone to do at least one test to understand Both cases can cause tumors. And preventing them is fundamental. I could dwell on the matter technically but I avoid it.
<>
One thing I never use are synthetic sweeteners.
They are various, but they always create problems in the long run.
Between the other I take some drinks unsweetened. In Italy we have a national interest in refined sugars.
Therefore even the normal ones should never be exceeded. Consider that they are present in many foods even in contrast with salt.
Biscuits often contain both of them. Besides milk and eggs. The choice here is very varied, so you can choose. Some have butter: the smell also bothers me. The butter they produce in Italy is of high quality. Like in other Northern European nations. I don't know some Turkish or Greek butters and yogurts but I believe they are among the best in the world.<>Some American grains and flours and other foods such as your nuts are excellent. The three parameters of your meats are also excellent.*We should collaborate more economically, and eliminate taxes on imported and exported products. There is a trade war between the USA and Europe in these matters. And it should absolutely be put to an end.
I prefer to eat meat from the USA rather than from France or Holland.
They are invading our market. Consider that our farmers are subject to European restrictions as are milk producers and others.
Or we get poor quality oil from other nations while ours has no equal in the world. The EU dictates what to do. And it prevents us from produce as we could.
And it forces us to purchase products from other nations. It would be as if a state, the USA, forced one of your states to become impoverished.
Our economy has only lost from this situation.
The UK did very well in leaving the EU.
They should have signed agreements agreements between these three states. UK, USA and Italy, at least those of eliminating import export taxes.
Mutually. We would only have advantages.
The Italians hoped to leave the EU.
But we have also entered it monetarily.
The EU will not hold up economically for long .It doesn't leave its own states free and just damages them.

I am not an expert on ulcers. My father had them and they brought him pain and suffering. According to one source on the internet, treatment options include:
Aminosalicylates (5-ASAs)
Taken either orally or rectally, these drugs work to decrease inflammation in the lining of the intestines and are usually used to treat mild to moderate ulcerative colitis. Sulfasalazine and mesalamine are examples of 5-ASAs.
Biologics are designed to work on targeted parts of the immune system to reduce inflammation. Some biologics work by targeting specific proteins, called cytokines, which play a role in causing inflammation. Other biologics work by preventing certain white blood cells from getting into inflamed tissues. Biologics are usually used for people with moderate to severe ulcerative colitis.
Corticosteroids (steroids) Prednisone, prednisolone, and budesonide are included in this type of medication. They affect the body’s ability to initiate and maintain an inflammatory process—keeping the immune system in check. While effective for short-term flare-ups, they’re not recommended for long-term use. Prolonged use of corticosteroids could lead to side effects such as osteoporosis, adrenal insufficiency, gastrointestinal issues, and more. It’s important to note that it is possible to relieve symptoms and achieve remission without the use of steroids.
But you are probably more of an expert in this area then I am.

Hi James.
Thanks for your informative post.
It doesn't matter who knows more, but who informs better and is more readable.
Mesalazine (5-aminosalicylic acid; 5-ASA) is the first-line treatment of ulcerative colitis. The problem with this drug is reaching the final part of the colon, the left colon, affected by the inflammation, after having passed through the entire intestine.
A multicenter study, coordinated by prof. Danese del San Raffaele, demonstrates the efficacy and tolerability of a new therapy in patients with moderate to severe ulcerative colitis.
The study was published in The Lancet towards the end of May 2022.
Corticosteroids are used for a short period of time.
Important: two studies show that in cases of extensive ulcerative colitis, oral prednisolone (40mg/day) combined with steroids causes remission.
Remission equals recovery.
They can stop.
Remission is an important term used in medicine, with reference to a morbid process, to indicate that the characteristic symptomatology, or even a single symptom, is no longer evident, even though the inflammatory process has not yet been overcome.
I have to look for bibliographical references to those studies.
Regarding the pathologies described, my father also performed my procedure.
Except his problem primarily affected the duodenum.
You write calmly, among other things you were very clear and concise.
I asked my doctor a complex question seven years ago.
Also on the peristalsis of the terminal part of the digestive system.
I was referring to a memory of a diagnosis I made when I was 13 years old in another gastric area.
I remember it by heart.
But he couldn't answer me.
7 years ago I also had a concomitant intestinal virus, which I struggled to eliminate.
It took months.
The clinical picture was not easy at all.
Thank you
Huck Finn

In Italy there is, among other things, a therapeutic shortage of biological drugs and ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease,
Studies indicate that there have been errors in this form of therapy, and everything needs to be reviewed.
The therapy is used when other forms do not work.
But it could be used as a first choice.
I was looking for recent studies but I only found those relating to over a year and a half ago.
In Milan there is a diagnostic and therapeutic center that is dealing with it.
This part of your comment is also very useful.
The hospital is Humanitas.
I should also update myself on the new studies here.
Sorry I read the notation but I didn't reply, I thought I did but I just thought so.
Maybe I'm a little tired.
I skipped this part which is very important.
And I care a lot about this form of medicine.
I'll go to sleep soon, it's almost 3am summer time, soon we'll use B.Franklin's idea to get back into solar time.
I should have dedicated more time, but I responded to several posts and messages.
I had seen and immediately thought of the answers.
They seemed faster to me, but instead it took me 21 minutes for two simple posts.
The fact that the dedicated answers require more processing time for me always has an impact, because I generally change various parts also to make them less difficult to understand (given my English)

So in an effort to recap: Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) was not the problem and it was never the problem. Rather ulcerative colitis is the problem and you are working on it. But the cure is evasive.

Author of Practical Preparations for a Coronavirus Pandemic.
A very unique plan. As Dr. Paul Thompson wrote, "This is the very best paper on the virus I have ever seen."
Hi James
These are two things that can lead to problems like the ones you described over time.
In my case it is irritable bowel syndrome, there is no blood in the stool, which is detectable with a specific test (Sometimes it is not visible so only a specific test can evaluate it).
The onset of the problems you describe is common to individuals over 50, in Italy there is a screening for people who reach that age and it is free.
I've always had this problem.
But in the last seven years of my life it has created problems, it depends a lot on my diet, so I have to exclude some foods.
We humans see our bodies in separate districts.
Instead the vision must be holistic.
And in any case, at least in Italy we are now thinking about specific localizations of the human body.
Now if we look at people with health problems only in the districts that cause pain, we are making a very serious mistake.
But, at least for us, in some cases it depends on which specialist doctor takes care of you.
Your specialist will find the connection with a specific pathology of your training.
Then they hardly collaborate with each other.
If I complain about the problems to a gastroenterologist, the treatment will be with your reference drugs.
If I complain about the pain to another therapist he will give me even different drugs.
Now excluding my case, if a person suffers from anxiety, for example, it is almost never investigated whether this is a derivation of other problems that have nothing to do except with anxiety.
If a person has hyper/hypo thyroidism, in addition to not looking for specific markers, if you do not specifically request it (Maybe you have studied medicine so you know what to ask), and perhaps go to a psychiatrist, this doctor will give a drug against anxiety.
But he will never go looking for evidence on the thyroid for example.
I write about hyper or hypo thyroidism because the functioning is fluctuating and therefore varies between states until it sometimes polarizes in one of these.
Many treatments with psychiatric drugs don't work for various reasons, I should describe them for pages, but I'll keep it short.
One of these is that anxiety is a symptom of something else and has nothing to do with pathological anxiety.
But whether it's thyroiditis or another problem.
It is clear that if a person has Parkinson's disease he will have anxiety, and the same will happen with other pathologies.
It would be like treating neuralgia in a tooth that causes an internal abscess, with a painkiller.
It is clear that you will have to act in a dental specialist.
He will cause anxiety: obviously.
But he won't cure himself with a drugs for anxiety!
I think that modern medicine, in addition to not using precision medicine (one would immediately understand which markers are to be evaluated and it exists, we study it at school, but it is also implemented in some hospitals, not everywhere), perceiving the body as in distinct sections you create the underlying error.
The therapeutic strategy for irritable bowel syndrome is mainly based on the treatment of the symptoms reported by the patient, as the underlying cause is often unknown.
It is therefore not possible to definitively treat the disorder or use a single treatment valid for all patients.
The approach is based on:
Adequate nutrition and lifestyle education. Irritable bowel symptoms are often associated with the intake of particular foods, which patients tend to exclude from their diet.
Dietary changes must be carried out under medical/nutritional supervision so as not to prove dangerous and evaluated based on symptoms.
Where traditional dietary advice fails, the nutritionist might recommend following a low FODMAP (Fermentable Oligo-saccharides, Disaccharides, Mono-saccharides and Polyols) diet, i.e. foods containing poorly absorbable sugars with a strong fermentative power, which draw water into the body. intestine and are difficult to digest, which is associated with a significant reduction in overall symptoms.
But James, excessive and prolonged restriction of FODMAPS can lead to nutritional deficiencies. The low FODMAP diet should involve three phases: replacing high FODMAP foods, gradually reintroducing foods into the diet based on the progress of symptoms, and personalizing the diet to avoid foods that trigger symptoms.
(Important) Proper hydration and appropriate physical activity.
Use of soluble fiber (e.g. psyllium), osmotic laxatives (e.g. PEG) or secretagogues (e.g. Linaclotide) in patients with constipation as the dominant symptom.
Use of probiotics (lactic ferments), non-absorbable antibiotics such as rifaximin (to reduce intestinal fermentation and/or if bacterial contamination is suspected) and antidiarrheal drugs such as loperamide (to be used with caution and under medical supervision) in patients with diarrhea as a dominant symptom.
(If I always controlled with antidiarrheals I would do damage in the long run because I wouldn't solve anything.?
Antispasmodic drugs to relieve intestinal pain and spasms. (It's good in the acute phase)
They also have an anti-bloating action but, if taken in high doses, can worsen constipation.
Antidepressant drugs (! If you take them these act by confusing the symptoms or worse)
or intestine-brain neuromodulators to relieve global symptoms and abdominal pain (If I feel sick, I have colic, they won't do me any good!).
Psychological therapy to improve general symptoms and quality of life (with such therapy I would do useless things)
How to prevent irritable bowel syndrome?
More than prevention of the syndrome, we can talk about prevention of exacerbations of symptoms.
To this end, it is important first of all to accept the disorder and live with it, learning to recognize those events and factors that worsen the manifestations, not only to intervene as soon as possible, taking any medications prescribed by the doctor at the time of their onset, but also to avoid as far as possible the situations that are at the basis of symptomatic development, especially when linked to stressful factors.

I read the first part. I think I understand your point. My wife's sister suffered back pain problems and had back surgery. They gave her pain medicine to relieve the pain after surgery. She lived alone. She kept falling in the middle of the night and becoming more injured. She would fall and begin to break her body and make it worse and worse. This happened several times and since I was there, I provided my thoughts.
I understood that the problem was the narcotic drugs they were giving her. I told them to take her off the drugs and they did. You see she would take them in order to get a good nights sleep. But then she would wake up in the middle of the night and lose her balance. The drugs when she awoke destroyed her balance. She would fall and get injured, seriously injured. She couldn't get back to bed, so she awaited until the next morning when someone would visit and find her on the floor. I also told them that they needed to have her stay with her daughter, so that someone would be there all the time in order that if she fell, there would be someone there immediately to help her recover.
They followed my advice and she stopped falling and has made a very good recovery over the past few months.
So if the approach is to relieve pain, then it might lead to a different follow on effect. In her case, it lead to multiple severe falls. If this was allowed to continue, she would have died by this time (due to severe falls and the damage it caused her body).
-----------------------------------------------
I read your second part of your message and your discussion of FODMAPS. The only thing that came to mind was around 50 years ago, when I experienced a severe form of diarrhea. I came across a solution. It was bananas. They are a natural food that controls diarrhea.
As a result, I have developed a saying "A banana a day keeps the doctor away".

Hi James.
You acted exactly as I would have done.
<>
A neighbor of mine had a serious problem due to the wrong medication.
I advised her to go to her doctor.
I had measured her minimum and maximum pressures and the minimum was too low.
Pre-drug it wasn't that low.
The doctor said that she should continue taking it.
Now, again by logic, the new heart drugs have three active ingredients that I will not describe.
Checks must be frequent and assiduous.
Valid.
The person who prescribes must be a person who listens to you and evaluates you scientifically and conscientiously.
Result: she was sick.
I was reassured because I felt that the son and wife were there.
Who wanted to call a medical ambulance (here there are 2 types, including one that doesn't include doctors, so it's useless).
Several hours passed, she had complained about 9 am.
I calmed down and didn't do what I would have done if she had been alone: asked questions and I would have called the doctors immediately.
The case was overlooked by her doctor: according to her the drug was fine.
(This choice is absurd, any person would understand that a minimum below 58 leads to serious consequences).
The relatives trusted.
They gave her the drug.
The elderly husband said something that I learned about many hours later, in which his wife complained too much and were his own ideas.
He is very old but still works in the countryside after retirement.
The lady fainted, hit her head, luckily she had a hemorrhage, her brain did not have cerebral edema.
*Cerebral edema is a collection of fluid that forms in brain tissue, pressing against blood capillaries in the affected area. This compression blocks the flow of blood and the supply of oxygen, first damaging the affected brain area and then causing death.
<>
Hitting her head she fainted and lost a lot of blood.
They noticed it.
I wasn't there after hours because that day I had to go out for work.
Result: They also had to operate on her heart (By-pass).
Hospital was long inpatient for months.
He's fine now.
The doctors there were super.
<>
But, here it is: it should have been avoided: but you know James, for privacy reasons I avoided doing what I had intuited.
I haven't forgiven myself for it.
I went to see her in the hospital several times.
She is now at home and is monitored 24 hours a day by her family and a nurse.
I went to see her recently.
In these cases it is also necessary not to be intrusive.
She smiled at me, she was happy to see me.
Among other things, I have also analyzed every detail of the house and the layout they have created is optimal, this time they followed both my advice and that of the son's wife.
One of mine in particular was removing the old doors, so they could move her with the demabulator.
Without obstacles.
The husband now feels guilty.
<>
But the mistake was leaving her alone and not listening to her.
<>
As you write exactly, drugs also involve those reactions.
<>
Years ago they made a heart-warming mistake for my father.
On the second intake he was ill.
<>
He didn't want to call anyone.
I, on the other hand, got ready quickly and called an ambulance.
<>
He saved him.
<>
You know James sometimes it depends on the people.
Listen and think, react immediately.
Better one more ambulance than one less person.
<>
I honestly don't know what the inexperienced people would have done with that head doctor.
I didn't think he should be underestimated, I described in precise words what he had and what medication he was taking, the seriousness of the situation, and the perfect location and structure of the house.
<>
In 10 minutes he had the ambulance.
<>
So my advice: react if the case requires it, and don't accept that it's anxiety.
Would be dead.
<>
He could have fallen, but I wouldn't let him move on his own.
He was always nearby to help him.
<>
I was good there.
Sometimes I'm very hard on myself, and in any case I see things based on things done appropriately and thought well beforehand.
<>
Also for the aneurysm you know about, I worked hard for him to travel by booking 3 high quality medical facilities for him.
The first one who answered me, I accepted.
As you know, immediately.
<>
Since I have Asperger's I'm not very empathetic so I tell it like it is.
Luckily he was in bed!
SBainacò for the news of the heart surgery.
<>
I reassured him.
In the meantime I had retraced the entire cardiac surgery and the new interventions
So on the front line in the world.
Maybe there were some in Switzerland and the USA and here and that's it (only in 3 facilities here).
The surgeon told me about it, usually they don't waste time.
Instead he was curious to know how I found out about the new interventions!
<>
Everything went very well.
<>
We autistics are not as superficial as neurotypicals.
And we are only interested in the result, praise generally embarrasses us greatly.
<>
f we have a passion we are very attentive.
<>
It helped me to take care of my loved ones, including my brother, I came out of social isolation.
Then obviously the rest was there in me, but I did all the banal NT things, learning from scratch.
Among other things, I don't understand them, they tend to make useless and empty dialogues.
<>
They offered me some medicines for sleeping too.
I wasn't sleeping...
But I rejected them politely.
Better to stay awake than take drugs if they are not life-saving.
or fundamental, those must always be assumed.
<>
I had read a Norwegian study years ago on the elderly and drugs.
They're not like us.
In them they last longer and act differently.
It takes a lot of common sense and the ability to assert yourself after having researched a lot.
In Italy, it is difficult to dispute a medicine.
<>
I will be traveling soon because a relative of mine will be operated on a by-pass liver conduit.
Waiting for a transplant but in my opinion it's too late now.
It had to be done immediately.
<>
But he relied on conflicting opinions from many doctors.
He certainly didn't choose those to support the liver surgery.
But he was hoping for drugs that anyone knows if he is a doctor act exactly on a cytochrome in the liver.
They just made things worse.
<>
Now the right choice, but years late.
Then maybe a liver transplant.
(If it gets there)
<>
The center is top class yesterday I was trying to make him understand: it is in the best place in Europe.
<>
And it's bad.
you don't have to be afraid.
<>
Regarding your speech James, as usual very logical and centered...
in the elderly, some processes of the organism are modified or less efficient, therefore a drug can give more marked responses (for example because it is not eliminated as effectively as in younger adults), or different responses because there is a different sensitivity to the drug same;
2) when multiple drugs are taken at the same time, these can interfere with each other, exposing the patient to the risk of unwanted and dangerous effects: this risk is greater the more drugs are taken and in the elderly it can be enhanced by the alteration of drug elimination mechanisms.
For these reasons, caution and, sometimes, a decrease in the usual dose is recommended when prescribing drugs for elderly people.
Also be very careful to never leave them alone in serious cases.
*Important to make him understand to sit in bed after waking up.
Because both the balance centers, the muscular centers, the heart centers and the brain centers require a certain amount of time to maintain the upright position stably.
Use handrails, canes, walkers, houses without carpets and steps.
Wear their slippers securely and that they are non-slip.
Be careful in the bathroom, fit grab handles, low and wide showers or tubs that open after emptying the liquid.
*Always ask for help and in any case do not be ashamed to ask because the elderly are often very reluctant to disturb other people, even loved ones.
And they don't say things because they are dignified people.

Huck Finn
We are at the edge of winter. The temperatures dropped down to 22 degrees F (-5.5 C) this morning. We have plenty of firewood to keep us warm. My wife began burning some a few days ago.
In your last message, you discussed a friend who was sick and fell injuring herself. Many years ago, one of the people I worked with was hit by a large truck while he was riding a bicycle. His brain swelled internally and after a few days he died. He was young and very healthy but he died. It was years ago and they didn't know how to treat him properly. Today they would have lowered his temperature and in a sense froze him and very slowly brought him back to normal over a period of several days. But this event occurred years ago, around 40 years ago.
You wrote about NTs. "Among other things, I don't understand them, they tend to make useless and empty dialogues."
You are right, they talk and talk and talk and never bring the conversation to an end. The right side of the brain is very linear. It works in a straight line. But the left side of the brain works in parallel combinations. It looks at many different views at once. But it lacks clarity.
Then you went on and discussed sleep. For me sleep is very important. It is my second half. When I was young I had a job where I worked around 90 hours a week. I only worked or slept, nothing else. I found I was able to do this by controlling my sleep environment. I slept during the daytime. So I had a room where the walls, floors, and ceiling was well insulated to dramatically reduce outside noise. It had special window shades that removed all light from the room. When I went to bed it was pitch dark. It was a very special room that allowed me perfect sleep.
Then you gave me some advice about using preparations for movement. I have a very profound sense of staying level. Generally my balance is almost perfect. Since my stroke, 2 1/2 years ago, I only fell a couple times. Two of them occurred when my dog jumped into me while he was trying to protect me from other dogs. The only other time was a few weeks ago when I lost so much blood, that I was almost to the point of fainting. It was due to the fact that my prescription medication was not renewed in a timely manner and this was a critical medication.

Good luck on your trip.

Meanwhile: thanks James, I'm still not clear what days they will be.
If I fail to notice my absence it will be because of that.
<>
Blood is falling: an edema is created if it does not flow out.
I'm sorry about your friend: an uncle of mine who I never met also died following a cerebral edema.
Bear in mind that among the relatives there were several doctors even then.
Nobody understood.
He died.
<>
You have had a problem consistent with the sudden lack of an essential medication for you.
You took a serious risk from what you described.
But now you won't have to worry about that anymore James.
Unfortunately, some things happen.
We autistic people stop mentally as if under a spell, and think that everything belongs to a certain logic.
In fact, you took it for granted that it was the other person who removed the drug while the doctor made a mistake.
Medical errors can also be reduced to almost zero, there are precise methods to follow and above all double-check what is done.
<>
At the temperature you describe, yes, heating is needed.
I imagine you will have isolated the fumes perfectly.
<>
Here it is hot I think in the evening well above 13 degrees celsius.
It rains often and there are some not too intense earthquakes.
Some bridges have collapsed in areas where I was not many weeks ago
<>
Yes, my father also worked a lot, sometimes he even did his brothers' jobs.
So he only came home to rest for a few hours. But before I think it was normal. Here it is normal to work even if you are very wealthy.
Some industrialists had their children work as workers in their companies and no one knew it
To understand how to run a company you have to work at it, whatever task you will carry out in the future. Honestly, I have never counted my working hours.
Sometimes I liked the work I did so much that I didn't realize it.
A funny memory. In Italy there are some months in which we don't go to school. I occupied them with three jobs. They were different from each other. Once I didn't get home by 10 pm as usual.
Another hour passed. My father came to look for me, usually children look for other reasons.
I had completed a series of works by a lady who had two daughters. One was beautiful and very intelligent.
She stayed at her house every time to talk to me.
You like cinema, let's see, imagine Cybill Shepherd, she reminded me of old images I think from 1970.
But in a completely different period and I was just over 19 years old.
There were two things: 1) I didn't understand anything and she liked me. She kissed me on the last day and then I never saw her again.
2) I was so alien that she was interested. Because I designed systems to get jobs done first. But sometimes she challenged me with questions or thought I couldn't make things work.
She once gave me a pen. I noticed that there was no end part. I took the pen in my hand and looked at it, I turned it around at the end, pressing it.
It opened (sorry, I'm using Italian which I won't be able to translate adequately because it's a verb form that hasn't been used lexically for years, but I like to read). She was amazed. Once she asked me for a photo. She could see the sun. I told her that it was a sunrise.
She replied that I was the first to tell her that it wasn't a sunset. It was true, but in that position, it was impossible for the sun to be there, between the buildings, among other things we didn't live far away and they could only see the buildings in the morning. sunrise and not sunset from that view. It was always there as if challenging me.
Once, together with his sister, we assembled a bookcase that I had designed. The entire wall. To assemble the pieces I used nails in certain parts so that he couldn't see anything other than the joints. I started hammering to assemble the pieces so I like sculpting so I was used to never miss a beat.
I said to her: F. if you hope that I will hammer my finger, it won't happen. She started laughing: she didn't do it out of malice but only to understand if sooner or later I would have made a mistake. And a hammering... Here it is: she played the piano, I wasn't good at that. Strange thing, you brought back a lot of memories.<>One of the jobs was at night in a pastry shop.Being very precise I could measure out the ingredients of each preparation. But also make the recipes.
A person much older than me told me what to do, I called him Willy Wonka. Because everything he did or told me to do, if you did it the way he wanted, the result was exceptional.
Then after those night hours I returned home with the mountain bike, before it was light. And then I went to the seaside. I almost never slept.
<>
Sleep: I'll try to do that soon.
I call mine cold sleeps.
They no longer have dreams or almost no dreams.
And they are not restful.
Sleeping the right way is very important.
It's not the time that matters, but how you sleep
<>
Neutotypical people talk, promise, say they know one thing, but if you delve deeper into the topic the excuse is that the conversation is tiring.
But they don't know what to say.
<>
Question: You have less than perfect balance.
Does the ear have anything to do with it?
Can you improve it?
A piece of advice: if there is a stream near your house and the water is not already frozen and flowing, stand on the bank and listen to the water flow. If you have vestibular problems you will notice clear improvements.
Now I have to go back to my darkness, I also have a dark room, and few noises can be heard here.
