Did you run out of Pokeballs? Ugh, don't laugh but the first time I saw a shiny was in Diamond or Pearl; it was a Bronzor. It glittered, but I didn't know what that meant, so i just defeated it. :x

I accidentally KO'd the Zubat.
Not sure if I was training without looking, choosing the wrong move, or underestimating my Poke's power.

My friend got the Shiny Rayquaza.

Wow, that's lucky!
Or does the game reroll shiny chance each time you fight the legendary? I'm actually not sure if you can get it that way.

No, it was an event, and I missed it. I did get the Zoroark, though! 8)

The event was held through the Internet, yes?
I remember having heard they used to hold events at McDonald's and places like that. 8O

Yeah, it was through the internet, thank goodness! Otherwise there was no way I would have been able to get it.

Yeah, it's really annoying when they make critical hits at the wrong time, when you just wanna weaken the Pokemon, not defeat it.

Thank goodness for False Swipe! I always keep a Pokemon in my party that knows it, just in case!

Yes, False Swipe FTW! Too bad there isn't a move like that that works for ghost Pokemon. I also hate it when I get a wanted Pokemon down to nearly nothing and then the monster uses a recoil move. Gah!!

Ghosts have the dreaded Destiny Bond. If you win, you lose.

Yeah, Destiny Bond is no fun when you land a good move on a Ghost.
There should be more moves that either leaves 1 HP or take a given amount of HP every time (like Sonic Boom and Dragon Rage), so it was easier to weaken a Pokemon without making it faint.

Super Fang cuts in half. That can help. From 10 from 20 to 1 from 2.

 I forgot about Super Fang... You're right, that is very helpful. It won't work against ghosts though.

Right. Ghosts are immune to Normal and Fighting attacks. That covers several attacks. A Pokemon that only knows attacks from those two elements would be useless against a Ghost.

Yes, and likewise a Pokemon with only Ghost type moves would not be able to harm a Normal type Pokemon, but strangely a Fighting type Pokemon would take normal (x1) damage.
