(OOC: Is this the same Enterprise that was recently attacked by the borgue and saved by The Doctor, also the same one Jian left?)

Look, we have a banner!! And holy fruggin' fraggin' freaks, it took a long time to make.

I used one of those character maker things as a template, but all other things, including Calem's jacket and Laura's second pigtail ( ) are by moi.

I started to attempt to draw Enye.. ^^;

(Woooww! Those are really cool! And darn, you actually mad Laura's other pigtail and Calem's jacket all by yourself? That's so cool!)

Mike saw that everyone was ready and said "Sam, give us a countdown." Sam's voice comes through the ship's sound system saying "10... 9... 8... 7... 6..." Mike folds the atmospheric engines into the vertical position and the turbines in them begin spinning which creates a rather loud humming. "5... 4... 3... 2... 1..." The ship gently lifts off the ground as Mike pulls the throttle lever. It faces north before switching to plane mode. The thrust is increased as the plane pitches up to climb higher into the atmosphere and gains speed.

10 minutes later the ship is going at hypersonic speeds, everyone can start to make out the curvature of the Earth, and the sky is nearly black. Mike says to everyone "Brace yourselves, I'm about to engage the rocket engine." A few seconds later he flips a switch on the throttle lever and suddenly everyone is pushed back into their seats as the ship accelerates, it pulls up harshly to quickly get out of the atmosphere and when it gets above the atmosphere it continues to accelerate for 2 or so minutes.

Mike starts to lower the throttle while looking intently at the flight computer. When it shows that the lowest point in his orbit is above the atmosphere he lowers the throttle all the way, there is a thump sound as the fuel valves close and then besides the quiet humming of the life support system everything is quiet. Mike gets out of his seat and turns to the group smiling as he takes a pen out of his front pocket, holds it in front of him in the air, and releases it which leaves it floating weightlessly. "So, what do you think?" He leaves the pen floating there as he begins doing a few post-orbit procedures such as deploying the radiator panels again and shutting down unnecessary systems.

Meanwhile, on the Enterprise:
"Jean-Luc! Jean-Luc, Enye tried to eat me again!" Q complained, suddenly appearing out of nowhere in the middle of Picard's office. "And she hit me with a teapot." He then noticed Aelkai, and frowned at her. Aelkai stuck her tongue out at him.
Picard had heard about the incident on the Deep Space Nine Promenade from O'Brien, and Jian had explained a great deal about Enye.
"I know." Picard answered calmly.
"You do?" Q looked quite surprised, and slightly annoyed that Picard already knew something ahead of him.
"Is this girl...Enye's child?" Picard asked, not expecting a straight answer.
"Maybe." Q crossed his arms, still frowning.
"You don't know what I am?" Aelkai, for some reason, looked positively elated, and danced around happily in a circle.
"Regardless of what you are, Enye is a monster!" Q exclaimed vehemently.
"Really? According to O'Brien the last time he was on the Enterprise, Enye is one of his best friends." Picard countered.
Q was clearly frustrated that he wasn't getting anywhere with Picard, and vanished huffily.

Back on Mike's ship:

Cat-Enye meowed in excitement and began turning somersaults in mid-air. She transformed back into herself with a flourish, bowing as she did so.

Laura was nervous but exited. She looked out the window in supprise at the sky, but was unexpectedly forced to lean back as the ship picked up even more speed. It remided her of the time that some guy with really long lime green hair somehow talked her and Shauna into going on every rollercoaster in Nimbassa City when her, Calem, Shauna, Tierno, and Trevs went with her to the Unova World Confrence.

As the ship started to slow down, she looked out the window and gasped in suprise. "We aren't on Earth anymore!" She said in amazement. Her eyes nearly bugged out of her head when she saw the floating pen. "Ah! The gravity's gone too!? This is so cool!" She said, while applaunding both Eyne's kitty summeralts and the sudded dissapearance of the gravity. Calem seemed just as amazed looking out the window next to him, and he quietly watched Laura's reaction in ammusement, letting her speak for him.

Meanwhile, on the Enterprise:

Capt. Picard sighed and leaned back in his chair in his office. Little Aelkai, had, like Q, refused to give him a straight answer, but the young girl had not caused any amount of trouble to himself nor his crew. The best way to keep Aelkai occupied had been to introduce her to the newborn kittens that had recently been born on the ship, and at last the Enterprise had arrived at Deep Space Nine. Picard smiled to himself, recalling the bewildered yet unexpectedly overjoyed expression on the shapeshifter's face--what was his name? Odo, that was it--when Aelkai had arrived on the station from the shuttle craft [apparently she was mistrustful of transporters]. Hopefully the mysterious girl would be better cared for there.

Meanwhile, on Deep Space Nine:

"So...you're back." Quark grunted as he delivered the requested tea to Aelkai and Dax at their seats on the Promenade. Aelkai grinned happily at him in response, and, after he made sure that Odo wasn't looking in his direction, allowed himself to smile back. Dax, cheeky Trill that she was, evidently noticed, however. "You missed her! Don't deny it, Quark." Dax grinned, laughing at the expression on Quark's face.
Odo noticed with slight amusement that Quark, of all people, actually looked happy to see Aelkai back. "She been greatly missed. Isn't it rather odd how one small girl could be so...magnetic." Kira commented from beside Odo, and he nodded in agreement while privately wondering the exact same thing.

Meanwhile, back on Mike's ship:

"I'm sure Aelkai will come back soon." Guinan said encouragingly to Enye as the latter gazed out of the ship window at the stars as if memorized. "Yes...she will." Enye replied absently, still staring at the sparkling stars as she floated around aimlessly.

It's also worth noting that people who are in zero G for the first time often push of of things too hard and hit into things a lot until they get enough practice.

Mike finishes the post-launch procedures and begins the process of mapping out gravitational unconformities. He uses the small reaction control thrusters on the ship to rotate it so that Earth seems to be to the left of the ship instead of below it. By the way he moves around in zero G it's clear that he has a lot of experience with it.

The Earth loomed next to the ship, still close enough to seem very large. It appears to slowly slide past as the ship cruises above it at orbital velocity. From that altitude large mountains seem like tiny bumps and the largest cities were barely visible. The bright Earth was dominated mostly by blue oceans, brown deserts, green forests, and white tundras. The Stars could be seen more clearly then they ever could be seen down on Earth.

During takeoff, Guinan watched the receding earth for as long as she could. As the rocket engine engaged, she felt the leaden weight on her chest and took shallow breaths. She was a bit nervous, sure. After all, they were traveling in a space shuttle that was, to her, ancient.

As the weight lifted, she looked out and saw a clear blue ocean whizzing by. For a moment, she wondered which ocean she saw, but then, everything was moving too quickly for that to matter much to her.

Watching Enye's summersaults, Guinan grinned. To Laura, she said, "If you like the view now, wait until you see all the sunrises and sunsets from orbit."

Finishing the unstrapping process, Guinan stayed close to the window at first, allowing herself to float toward the ceiling with her feet facing front. Using her hands, she launched herself off the windows, moving from one side of the small ship to the other. In doing so, she saw Enye looking wistfully out the window and made her knowing comment about Aelkai, the grin faltering on her face for a moment.

(OOC: I predict that Mike will give everyone a lecture on gravity versus weightlessness, LOL. Kuraudo, cool Q/Enterprise scene, funny too.)

"Wait... If this is space... Then no wonder why that pen is floating!" She exclaimed, unbuckling herself from her seat and jumping out of her seat. "I'm flying! I'm flying! I'm flying without Sora! Oh Arceus, this is so-- Oww!" She screeched, hitting her head on the ceiling, but quickly shook it off, and flailed her arms and legs around as an attempt to get to Calem. "C'mon, get up here!" She whined, tugging on his arm. "Fine..." He chuckled, getting up to where she was, but since she kept ahold of his hand, she pulled him away from the ceiling before he could whack his head on the ceiling like she did. "Ah, this is so much fun!" Laura squealled, with a giant, childish grin.

"I have been to so many places...seen so much..." Enye muttered, half to herself. "I have seen stars born and die...seen suns shine...seen four moons at once..."

Meanwhile, on the Enterprise:

The door buzzer sounded, and Picard, as always, said 'Come.' The door opened, and O'Brien stepped into Picard's office. "We've repaired the damage to the Promenade, sir. I just thought you might want to know how we've been doing on the station lately." O'Brien explained, and then chuckled to himself. "Commander Sisko might not admit it, but I'm sure he's really happy to see Aelkai again. So many people like her, though. It's..." O'Brien paused then, searching for the right word.
"Uncanny?" Picard suggested, and O'Brien nodded vigorously.
"It's like...well, for instance, when she met up with me again only a few hours ago, can you guess what she did?"
Picard shook his head, beginning to understand that there was much more to the peculiar girl than he had originally thought. "She gave me a big hug, kissed my cheek, and said 'I love you." O'Brien laughed at the bemused expression on Picard's face. "In fact, she did the same to nearly everyone she came across, which is saying something since the Promenade was packed with all sorts of people. She certainly surprised Keiko." O'Brien grinned, clearly remembering how confused his wife had been.
"What is she?" Picard mused rhetorically.
"Enye's just as weird." O'Brien added, smiling.
"Mmm. Jian gave me that impression. Enye's sister, apparently." Picard added, clarifying. "Jian stayed on the Enterprise for awhile, for the experience, I suppose. Q seems to think that all of them are monsters."
"Did you know that Aelkai once said 'I love you' to Q, too?" O'Brien laughed aloud. Picard made a slight sound of amusement.

Guinan laughed and started making her way toward Laura. She tried turning around to face the back of the ship, twirling as she hit the wall with her hands or feet. The trouble was that as she tried to make her way back, she lost her momentum and ended up floating in midair. She alternately turned and floated, but couldn't reach any of the ship's surfaces.

(OOC: This little scenario may or may not actually work out as I've written it here, depending on the dimensions of the ship. If she'd be able to reach either the floor or the wall/window at all times, then scratch that. Kuraudo, LOL about Aelkai saying "I love you" to Q.)

"Ya-ha!" Lilli whooped as they jerked back in their seat.

They clung on for dear life as they fligged sharply upwards, harshly hurtling up like a very scary roller coaster.

It reminded them of the roller coaster in Teach's "Amusement Park of Terror," which he had convinced them to ride while he adjusted the speed settings. Needless to say, they discovered how fast was too fast to make it over Catapult Hill without becoming a projectile.

Just when Lilli was certain they were going to recreate the whole scene-- flaming vehicle and all! -- they felt the ship slow down to a dead float.

When the ship slowed down they got out of their seat and pressed their nose to the window.

"Waaaaaohhhh," came their voice, muffled by the glass.
"It'ff so breeeeeetyyyy."

They looked out the glass with puppy-dog eyes as they glanced around at the view.
"So memmy starrrrrrrrss...."

Then they saw the Earth.

"Holy crap, it's so tiny!" They squealed. They quickly whipped out their phone and snapped several pictures.
"See? The Earth really is round!"

Everyone in their goddamn village thought that, and they were gonna prove them wrong.

"Hehe." they smirked. They leaned smugly to the side with a hand on their hip. "Solid proof--"

Suddenly they saw Mike release the pen and their eyes bugged out.

"No way!"

Guinan noticed Lily out of her seat, floating by the window. "Hey," she called. "Push off and join us." Guinan grinned from her relaxed, floating position.

"Hm? Whar was that, Eyne?" She asked, hearing her say something but not quite catching it. Laura looked at Lilli. "Wow, everyone in your town thinks the world is flat?" She asked, sounding stunned.

"Hey, what if I try to..." She said, jumping off of one wall, trying to land and push off of another, but she did it too hard, bounced off ot the wall she was intending to gracefully push off of, and flew face first into the wall, right next to the wall where Calem was, er, floating. "I geuss I'm the klutzy one even without gravity..." She said, her face muffled by the wall. Even though he just watched his girlfriend fly into a wall, he had to stifle a laugh at how cartoonish she looked. "Are you alright?" He asked, turning his head towards her. "Yeah, I'm fine..." She said, looking back at him, blushing and feeling a little embarrased and awkward.

Mine finishes what he was doing and takes back his pen. "Believe it or not, in my world there are still people who believe that Earth is flat. Not as many as there were before commercial space travel, but still a few." Mike notices Guinan floating out of reach of anything. "Hey Guinan, try throwing something like your shoe. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction, so it will give you a small nudge which will make you drift towards something you can grab. I've been in that situation enough times to know how to get out of it."

Mason comes to a closed door obstructing his route to the portal chamber with a screen on it that said that the area behind it has been depressurized. This is going to be harder then I thought. He look around and finds a medical room, and just like everything else in this section of the station it had been abandoned when the crew left the ship and the replacement crew hasn't gotten here yet. He takes off his jacket, shirt, and the top part of his compact space suit to fully expose where he was hit and he puts a bandage on it. This should at least stop the bleeding, I will need proper medical attention soon though. He takes out the suit patching kit that is a standard piece of EVA equipment and using only his left hand he manages to patch up the hole by an emergency suit patch on it. He puts everything back on and starts thinking about how he could get past that airlock to the wormhole chamber.
