Found this by accident, it's Tove Jansson's self-portrait but I don't know the year she drew it.

She certainly had fun with eyes, didn't she?

She sure did. Otherwise Tove's and her brother Lars's drawings were almost identical but it is eyes that make a difference. Compare, this one is by Lars.

Zealand.

Ugh ... the Mongrel Mob. They've turned my hometown and some of the neighbouring towns into a gang stronghold. SMH. There were some interesting photos of them on CNN in the last couple of weeks, though.

I wonder if she's been affected by all the bad weather in NZ. Most of it was in a different part of the North Island, so perhaps not. Or maybe she's having login problems. I've had problems with it on and off over the last few days, even on my laptop.

Oh well. - Siberian Express to Vladivostok, 8 days. Ferry to Japan, 1 day. Flight to Singapore + flight to Sydney + flight to Auckland, 1 day. I would be in New Zealand in 10 days. Then just start looking for an English lady who tends 100,000 sheep and speaks Finnish. Easy.

:D

I would be thrilled to see you Krabo. Once I got over the shock. Although may I suggest that Train to Helsinki, Flight Helsinki-London, Flight London-Seoul, Flight Seoul-Auckland may be a tad quicker. 8)

The weather here has been cold (probably not by Finnish standards) but I have a large stack of firewood and am keeping warm. Except for the mornings, when getting out of bed is no fun. Thankfully we haven't had that much rain, the days have been beautiful and clear.

I was just losing patience with login problems. Every time I came here it was either really quiet, or there was something I wanted to respond to but I got logged out. I just gave up and stopped coming for a bit. I've spent a lot of time immersed in my languages, mostly Italian this last week or so.

Skilpadde, I loved the videos, thanks. That puppy is just cuteness overload. And what a cool dude on the skateboard! 8)

Our weather, by the way, has been surprisingly chilly for some time now. Another way to put it is that the weather hasn't changed since last September.

^ Other than some warm weather in April, we've had a colder than usual spring here too, and it has been wonderful. Now it's too warm though. I really hate heat and warm weather, it is the only sensory issue I actually suffer. (I have some issues with food, but those are usually easily avoided and I get over them easily. But when it gets hot (for me) I suffer and can't enjoy much of anything. I wish for some rainy days. They make it colder and I like rain a lot. It's nicer to be out then (fewer people about) and nice to listen to.

Haha, that reminds me... I think small talk is a nightmare, but I think it's probably a nightmare to attempt small talk with me as well:

NT: "Nice weather we're having"
Skilpadde: "Too ****ing hot!"

or

NT: "If only the rain would let up"
Skilpadde: "I like rain"

At least I get to end the torture of small talk quickly!

Sorry, but I find it amusing when I hear someone talk about it being cold and rain in the same sentence. If it's warm enough for rain, then it's not that cold :P

As I mentioned in one of the other chat threads just now, I've had log-in problems too the last weeks. It was so bad at its worst that I was logged out as soon as I left the profile it took me to. Now when I follow topic reply notifications or get logged out when trying to post, the site takes me to where I should be when logging in and that helps a lot. It also hasn't been as frequent now, (although I think 6 times in 40 minutes as it was the other day is still pretty much). I was logged out a few times yesterday, on two occasions, so 4-5 times in all? It's really annoying when it happens frequently.
When I got too frustrated, I went to play my all-time favorite game, Pokemon. I've also been listening to YouTube a lot. And I have (yet again) developed a slight obsession on both parallel worlds (many worlds theory) and Pokemon.

When I accidentally found it, it took me 0.0025 sec to decide what to do with it.
