I was surprised when I first learned that normal type moves were STAB for normal Pokemon. I thought normal was just colorless like in the card game.

Well, at least they cover all the elements. I thought it was weird to have Rock and Ground Pokemon like Geodude and Diglett as Fighting element.

The new typing scheme for Fairy just messes me up, but I managed to take down my friend's shiny Rayquaza with my Gardevoir, so I guess it works for me!

It's great that something other than just dragon and ice is super effective against dragons, and it's cool that Fairies are immune to dragon attacks. I also like that Poison has finally become effective against something more than just grass, for which it was better to use fire, bug or flying or even ice anyway. Steel has also become more important with the introduction of the Fairy type. I wonder if they plan to add more types?
Did you know that apparently the Dark type are called evil in Japanese? 8O I don't like that...

Yeah, that made no sense at all. I guess it would just be too hard to get the correct cards if they were gonna have energy cards for all the types, but it was still strange.

I don't get why Dark types are called evil either. In Japanese, if they were really called Dark, they would be the 'Yami' type.
