Guinan laughed and nodded to Jian. "Yes," she said, telling the story to the group. "Q actually has others to answer to in the Q Conntinuum where he's from. One time, the other Q were angry with him, and they turned him into a human for a while. Some of the Enterprise crew couldn't believe he was really human, so I stabbed him with a fork to find out."

Jian grinned, clearly pleased to make several new friends at once. "Shall I tell you the story of when Enye and I went to an alternate dimension and gatecrashed our alternate selves' weddings? It all started when we accidentally made this potion that opens portals to other dimensions, and we jumped through. We landed on the food table, right on the wedding cake, and then we got kicked out of the sacred grove by our extremely angry alternate selves. It took us months to get back to our dimension."

Meanwhile, on the planet near DSN [shall I give it a name? How about...Menengroth?]

Dax rushed up to Aelkai, wondering where Enye could have possibly gone, but then noticed that despite the warm breeze, Aelkai was shivering. Dax hit her comm badge. "Seven to beam up, and get Dr. Bashir." Once Aelkai was safely brought to sickbay, Dax ran to find Kira. "Enye's life signs--I mean--are they--are they still there?" Kira's eyes widened, and checked the computer while Sisko watched in concern. "There's nothing alive on that planet now. What happened?" Kira snapped, her temper flaring. "I don't know. It was like Enye was surrounded by white fire, and then Aelkai was unsealed, but she looks normal now. When I looked again, Enye was gone." Dax explained breathlessly.
"She...she didn't die, did she?" Kira asked aloud, as if Dax [or anyone, for that matter] could possibly know. "She could have--I don't know--transported herself back to wherever she was..." Kira stopped, for she had just noticed that Dax was still carrying Enye's cloak and teleporter. She swallowed hard, but then mumbled, "We...we could...retrace the energy patterns..." She cleared her throat, and then instructed the computer to replay the energy readings. Sisko joined them, and Dax could see on the screen how both Enye's life signs had fluctuated so drastically that it was practically impossible to tell what had happened.

"You met your alternate selves? Wooow, that's so cool! I wonder if I have any alternate selves." Laura stared out the window wistfully.

"You probably do. In fact, most beings probably do." Jian told Laura, but then her brow furrowed. "What's taking Enye so long? I'll call her." Jian unclipped a crystal phone thing similar to Enye's from her belt, and fiddled with it for several seconds.
"The entity you are calling may be busy or away. Alternately, the server may be busy or melting into slag. Please try again later. Have a nice day!" A thin, automated voice issued out of the phone, and Jian shook it repeatedly, as if that would help.
"What could have happened?" Jian wondered aloud. Then she flinched. "She didn't...did any of you see--did Enye's eyes look strange to you? I mean, weirder than usual? I didn't even think...She couldn't have used the White Star spell..."

Meanwhile, on DSN:

"Physically, Aelkai is perfectly fine, but she won't speak at all." Dr. Bashir quietly told the anxious Kira and Dax as they looked at Aelkai silently sitting on one of the sickbay beds. "Whatever really happened on that planet, she's not telling us."

Guinan laughed at Jian's wedding crasher story and snickered at the automated message. Her snicker turned to a look of concern however as Jian asked about Enye's eyes. "I'm sorry, I didn't see anything," she said nervously. She hated to think of Enye causing fear and destruction somewhere else.

(OOC: Uh oh, you're not killing Enye off yet I hope. She's been lots of fun.)

"The White Star spell is so powerful that the caster's body burns away completely and literally becomes a star. But, in return, the caster [or what's left of them] can spiritually heal pretty much anyone, even something as terrible as Remalek transforming." Jian explained softly. "I've only read about the spell itself and never seen the effects in person, though."
"What exactly is 'Remalek transforming?'" Guinan asked curiously. "Enye didn't really explain it to us."
"Sometimes a magic caster's Shadow becomes too great for whatever reason, and the Shadow then transforms them from the inside out. Usually that only happens when a caster has undergone tremendous trauma of some kind, so if Enye's wings were broken like they felt when I touched them, that could be why. Since Aelkai's...well, she's incredibly emphatic, so much so that she often takes people's emotions and unintentionally makes them her own, so she could have ended up accidentally mimicking Enye's transformations." Jian looked like she wanted to throw the crystal phone at the wall but thought better of it.

Meanwhile, on DSN:

"Wait, what's that light?" Kira pointed to a softly glowing light shining around Aelkai's head.
"It looks sort of like a star." Dax commented as Dr. Bashir entered sickbay and cautiously approached the light. "But if it is, it's not any kind of star I know of."
Aelkai looked up and smiled at Dr. Bashir, and then said,
"Enye's so beautiful now. It might be hard to hug her now, though."

"I didn't realize her wings were broken," Guinan said sadly. Then, a thought occurred to her. "There was a barrier that Enye was trying to break," Guinan started hesitantly. "Maybe she broke her wings in the process of breaking down the barrier." She wasn't at all sure how Jian would react to the knowledge of Enye's psychic attack. She shifted position uncomfortably, letting go of the seat as lightly as she could so that she would float without hitting anything.

Right before Enye answers Mike's question about the sea serpent a piece of the 3D printer that Mike forgot to secure bumps into his head. "Oww... Hold that thought, I need to put this somewhere." He goes back down and gets a bit distracted setting up the 3D printer, but he listens to the conversation as he's working. When the 3D printer is finally operational he comes back up and says "Wait, so Enye is probably dead?!" In response to Laura's statements he says "By the way, there are probably infinite universes which means that every possible event will happen, this includes alternate versions of everyone and every work of fiction ever written." When he sees the sea serpent outside he looks at it in amazement until he is snapped out of it by his head hitting the ceiling.

~~~
Mason desperately tries to think of a way out of being cornered when he remembers the airlock. The station had a series of catwalks on the exterior for maintenance and repair purposes, they can be accessed by using maintenance airlocks that can be found in places like storage rooms. He enters a small storage room along the hall he was running through and quickly enters the airlock. He activates his helmet which folded out onto his head from a smaller device near the back of his neck (I will probably make a drawing of it later). The soldiers follow him into the storage room but since they are not wearing any space suits they do not follow him through the airlock.
Mason flips the lever to depressurize the airlock which causes red lights and an alarm to go off, all sounds become quieter as the air is sucked out and before long the lights change to indicate that it's safe to exit. He opens the outer door and steps out onto the catwalk, the compact space suit under his clothing keeping him alive. This should buy me some time and I should be able to get pretty close to the portal chamber if I go this way. He looks around to see the space battle still going on, he sees one of the gunships in Captain Plank's fleet evacuate from all the damage leaving only 2 gunships, and the Heiwa Federation fleet was taking quite a beating. He was rather close to one of the huge particle cannons on the station which he notes is firing at Captain Plank's fleet. The stars appeared to rotate around the station as it rotated and from that vantage point it was clear just how huge the station is.
Mason glances at his oxygen pressure indicator and to his surprise it was already at 74%. What?! This suit should have half an hour of oxygen and I've only been out here for a few minutes, this isn't right. He sees the indicator tick down to 73% and then 72%. There must be an oxygen leak. He does a quick calculation in his head to determine that he has about 8 minutes before he runs out of oxygen completely.
By the way Kuraudo, it's generally considered rude to control other people's characters without permission while role playing.
"No, her wings felt cleanly broken." Jian said, but then paused. "Did the Borg...oh no. Could the Borg have decided to stop chasing me after the Doctor showed up and tracked down Enye and Aelkai instead? If she had transformed for the first time inside a Borg cube, she would have torn it to bits. But then...how did she and Aelkai survive open space, never mind the exploding Borg cube? Wait...they could have been beamed aboard Deep Space Nine. Enye never did explain to me how she even ended up there in the first place." Jian exclaimed, looking as though a light had appeared above her head.
A light had appeared above Jian's head, dancing and floating there peacefully. "No, she's probably not dead. If she managed to free Aelkai from her transformations, then she's become a star."
[Sorry! I didn't know! :oops: I'm kind of new to this. Oh, yeah, I forgot about the sea serpent. :lol: ]
(OOC: Mikeman, Mason is very clever. :D
Kuraudo, I didn't object in this case, since we're both Star Trek fans on the same page. I actually don't mind if you feel you need to write out Guinan now and then, if it's done carefully. If I had an OC though, it could cause problems if someone else tried to write their parts out for me.
Anyone can write out Q if they want him to affect their characters. I look at Q more like an NPC, or non-player character who's there to further the story.)
Guinan looked at Mike as he got hit in the head a second time, and then she looked away, not wanting to draw attention. She watched the dancing light, confused. "Could Enye be trying to communicate with us using that light?" she asked.
Jian looked confused, but then when she saw the light her whole face shone with joy. "No. She is that light. Come here, Enye." The light obligingly flitted over to rest on Jian's cupped hands. "If you glow more brightly and grow a bit, everyone else will be able to see you." Jian added, and the light shook a little, as if to say 'Oh. Silly me.' and grew quite a bit bigger. At first it was rather difficult to see since the light shone fair and ethereally, but then a more discernible form could be seen. It was as if Enye was a wholly new creature, spun out of white light with long, immaculate hair and jeweled eyes.
"So, Eyne is now a star. Like one of those things out there." Laura pointed out the window.
Calem looked very sad. "By telling Gumball to break the barrier, I killed her...? Exactly how did that barrier come into the picture anyway?" He looked very upset with himself.
When the little light showed up, Laura cautiously walked up to Jian, looking at the light. "Eyne, what happened to you?"
Mike watches everything in confusion. "Could someone please explain what's going on?"
~~~

Mason hurries along the catwalk until he comes to a heavily damaged section of the station where a missile had hit and created a hole large enough to breach 3 floors and destroy part of the catwalk. He could see inside of the depressurized rooms and a few of the lighting fixtures were flickering on and off unpredictably. I would be willing to bet that this is why that emergency airlock door between me and the portal chamber was closed. As he approached the twisted and heavily damaged end of the catwalk it started to get a bit unstable, he had to be careful not to fall off because he had no way to return to the station if he did and without a rescue mission he would be as good as dead, especially with only about 5 minutes of oxygen left.

He goes as close to the end of the catwalk as he dared to and then he jumps up and grabs onto the edge of the big missile hole. He pulls himself up and enters the breach, standing inside of one of the exposed rooms. There is debris lying all over the floor and near where the missile hit there was a lot of metal that was broken and twisted. He continues on in the direction of the portal chamber along this more precarious route.

"As far as I know, Enye left to help her friend, the girl we saw earlier who was... almost like how you might describe a ghost," Guinan started to set the scene for Mike. "Maybe Enye will find a way to tell us the rest of what happened." Again, Guinan watched the movement of the light carefully.

"It's true," a voice said.
"Especially with the advent of fanfiction, the multiverse is getting more and more saturated."

The stranger glanced sideways at Laura. "Ever heard of My Immortal?"
They snorted and rolled their eyes.
"... Ugh. Gods save me."

They floated on their back carelessly, flipping through the pages of a book.
"Say," the stranger said, floating toward Lilli, "This is yours, ain't it?"

Lilli didn't hear them as they were drawing in a sketchbook, half-scribbling and half-listening to the conversation.

The stranger continued grinning and reading Lilli's journal.

When Lilli heard what Mike said, their head jerked up from their page.
"Enye's dead?!"

Lilli's voice started Gristle.
"Huh?"
He looked around in confusion.
"What's goin' on....?"

When they heard what had happened, the stranger's grin vanished. "....Oh." They shrank back, drifting away from the group slowly. "Oh.
....I seem to have come at a bad time." they said softly.

"As far as my foresight will allow," Jian began, in a tone that meant she was beginning an explanation, "Enye and Aelkai arrived in the Star Trek universe, but were captured by the Borg. Enye transformed when her wings were broken, and caused the Borg cube to explode, but they were transported just in time thanks to Deep Space Nine's crew. However, Enye transformed twice more, and on the third time Aelkai tried to help her by casting a spell. The spell was distorted and created an inner barrier inside Enye. Aelkai was overcome by her Remalek transformation, but Enye telepathically sealed her again, and then Enye was transported to the Pokemon universe, where she met all of you. Aelkai's astral projection wandered the station, calling out for Enye, but they could not reunited because of the barrier. Once the barrier was removed, Aelkai quickly found her sealed form, and unsealed herself. Enye managed to seal her away in a deep sleep, and the Deep Space Nine crew transported Aelkai to an uninhabited planet. Then, once I arrived and gave her my teleporter, Enye teleported to the planet." Jian's eyes took on an eerie glow, as if she really was watching what had happened [or perhaps she was!] "Enye cast the White Star spell, freeing Aelkai completely, and in return she became a star. Aelkai is about to find her way here." She added in a matter-of-fact voice. "So, no, Enye is not dead. She had simply changed forms." The light dipped and weaved this way and that, as if in agreement, and everyone could see that Star-Enye was actually smiling at them.

Meanwhile, on DSN:

"Are you sure you know what you're doing?" Dax asked nervously as Aelkai strapped the teleporter onto her skinny wrist.
"I will be fine. I will come back one day and visit. Here, Odo, I have a present for you and Kira." Aelkai dug around in Enye's cloak until she pulled out a ball of fluff that purred and squeaked.
"A Tribble? Why a Tribble?" Kira asked in surprise, ignoring Odo's mutterings of 'What am I supposed to do with a Tribble?'
"This is a special Tribble. She will not breed, but she can still eat lots." Aelkai grinned and handed the Tribble to Odo, who simply looked at it but then awkwardly smiled slightly.
"Erm...thank you." Odo muttered, patting the Tribble absently.
Aelkai then gave Dax and Kira big hugs, and then restarted the teleporter.

Meanwhile, on Mike's ship:

A flash of light interrupted Jian's explanations, and Aelkai was suddenly in their midst. Jian hugged the little girl tightly, rocking her back and forth while Star-Enye alighted on Aelkai's head emphatically.
