Granted, have a glass of Calvados - the speciality of where I live in France. You won't get anything else done for the rest of the day though and have a sore head tomorrow.

I wish to do some work now.

Granted ... you will make great progress on a project that has been canceled, but they won't bother telling you that until tomorrow morning.

Granted, it is always a vowel. Really, it is -- it's just that in a dipthong it might be only halfway pronounced.

Apocalyptic scenario is not the same thing as the end of life:
Apocalyptic; "Characterized by usually exaggerated predictions of or allusions to a disastrous outcome" or "of or pertaining to the Apocalypse."
Apocalypse; "a prophetic revelation, esp. concerning a cataclysm in which the forces of good permanently triumph over the forces of evil" or "any universal or widespread destruction or disaster."

Granted - Though you don't have the patience to wait for it.
In the process you have a series of meltdowns due to all the anticipation.
And you forget to watch all the cool stuff happen when this baby makes landfall.
