Alexander the Great, because he is one of the greatest military commanders in all history. He was never defeated, and won many battles outnumbered. He conquered what was the known world before his army wouldn't go any further and dying at just 32.

Secretary of the Navy? I'd choose Admiral Horatio Nelson of the British Navy, one of the UK's greatest sailors.

As wikipedia describes him, 'He was noted for his inspirational leadership, superb grasp of strategy, and unconventional tactics, all of which resulted in a number of decisive naval victories, particularly during the Napoleonic Wars.'

Though he died in the Battle of Trafalgar, he saved Britain from Napoleon.
