I haven't seen either movie. I've only seen parts of The Wizard of Oz (and am familiar with the story), and I read Gone with the wind as a teen...
I guess the latter.

movies or series?

depends for what! Polar bears are cooler, but far more dangerous, so if we're talking about having them in the area I pick grizzly, which is apparently the same as the bear we have here, but the brown bear here is less aggressive than the grizzly. I saw an interesting article about possible reasons here http://www.takepart.com/article/2013/10 ... e-habitats
polar bears wouldn't like it here though, so maybe they're safer after all, as they'd likely go to colder places.... while grizzlys are aggressive and can seek habitats if there's food there....
Polar bears then.

skunk or badger?

Luckily for the U.S., grizzlies are not usually found in the lower 48. There are some in the Northwest, but they are mainly in Alaska and of course Canada. Same goes for brown bears. Black bears can be found throughout the lower 48. They are very protective of their cubs and they can climb trees whereas the grizzlies can't.
