I dunno ... I think a Venus flytrap would be an interesting challenge. Or a triffid. :P

Hmm... been a long time since I saw a Triffid. Don't think they've been around here since I spilled some sea water on 'em.

Triffid vs Kraken: who would win? When the krakens rose from the deeps, did the triffids get caught up in their tentacles and get swept out to sea?

It's hard to say who'd win. I don't think the two are very likely to meet. Kraken don't do well on land, and salt water kills triffids. But if the triffids came close enough to the sea, I think the Kraken would be the one with the advantage, it's big and strong and could drag them to sea.
This is a fun topic! :D

Yep the Kraken would drag them seawards with their incredibly sticky tentacles. So the coast could be free from triffids but also not safe for our human species, unless the krakens decided they preferred triffids to humans, and thus became vegetarian. 8)

We could sit on our beachfront balconies watching all this.

That would've been interesting to watch.

Maybe there would be a small strip of a neutral zone between the reach of the Krakens and how close the Triffids dared go? If someone were to present the Krakens with the science of why too much red meat is bad for you, maybe he's become a vegetarian. Then the beach side could be safe within their reach too... I just hope the Krakens won't become so fond of the taste of Triffid that they will make us grown them for them! 8O

Scary?

We have not even begun discussing the topic of what Four-Foot-Long Mexican Fruit bats could do to a Triffid if they were hungry.

Well, it is Halloween time.

Soon, zombies, skeletons, and ghouls will rise from the graves.

Thanks! I haven't been in much of a chatting mood lately. Hopefully that's something that can be understood here. I'm glad that phase has ended for now, and I'm very happy to be talking to you again! :)

8O Poor Triffids! I think we need to take action before they become extinct.

At least turtles and tortoises don't eat them. I think tortoises need an island covered in strawberry plants and lettuce.

Enviro has earned a thread. The one person who is always friendly and kind no matter what.

What does the zentinel part mean? Like guarding the environment?

' Zentinel' means 'always off at a tangent'.

I named myself after The Sentinel, a favourite mountain (although I've never been on top of it as its a free standing peak needing rope to get up) and just changed the s to a z.
