You should be knitting scarves for your cold cows! Or are they a new form of fresh frozen beef?

LOL.

I'm afraid wood doesn't get put onto a bonfire around here, it gets chopped into firewood for our heating. Luckily it doesn't reach freezing in our part of the country that often. I do feel sorry for the cows in the colder parts of the country, barns are almost unheard of here. Ours at least get extra hay rations when it is cold.

The Highland cattle is becoming popular among farmers even in Scandinavia. They spend their life under the high sky the year round.

Rather serious horns, though......

The American big horns are more extreme still.

I don't have the faintest idea. Not necessarily.

If they are aggresive, they could do some serious damage.

Or stay on the other side of the fence?

I am assuming that any cattle are living on a ranch or farm.

Which should be fenced, and which people should stay on the other side of, so that they do not get chased if those

things are as unfriendly as they look.

They're guarding the premises, since the owners have no geese. :ninja:

Now, that's another paradigm shift.

Yes, highland cattle can be aggressive. I used to work with someone who kept them. On the bright side, their horns are so large that it's difficult for them to gore you with them. The worst kind are what we call 'devil horns' - the ones that just stick up about 6-12 inches and curve towards you. Mind you, even non-horned ones can do damage. I got attacked by a polled cow (no horns) who just smashed me into the ground with her head, and tried to grind me into dust. I was lucky to get away with nothing broken, I thought it would at least break a rib or two. And before anyone asks, I was just checking and tagging her new calf. Horrible cow, her mother was evil too.

@Krabo, yes, geese can be very territorial and aggressive.
