People with asperger's would be the best dragonrider's
In Eragon's world the rules of magic would make people with asperger's great dragon rider's or magicians for that matter.
In the first book Brom said how a magician could say the word water and make a jewel. So if you are able to make associations well than you would be able to use a word for a wide variety of things.
Having a good long term memory would mean you could remember words easily or a group easily.
For guarding your mind just think about something that really interests you since people with asperger's are known as being able to focus really well if they are interested in something.
Sorry if it sounds like I am just describing symptoms, watching hulu so a little distracted
When I was young maybe 10 years old the teacher told the class that if we really wanted something and put our minds to it we could manifest it in reality.
She said that the more people that put their minds to it and really concentrated the more chance of it happening.
Since I wanted a dragon more than anything else in the world I tried unsuccessfully to convince my classmates to help me manifest one at lunch time.
They thought I was being childish and ridiculous.
So I spent that lunch and several more days attempting to manifest my pet dragon.
I tried with all the mental power I could muster.
Unfortunately the best I could come up with was an imaginary dragon (I knew it was imaginary so it didn't really count).
I really wanted one that I could fly around on and command to set things on fire.
Anyway I thought I would share my cute and slightly embarrassing story of taking things too literally and the perseveration that ensued in attempting to reach my goal.
Ahhh I miss my innocent and totally clueless days before shame and distrust took over.
