Intellav

n. (ǐn'-tə-lăv)
Def: Any one or combination of being intellectually, emotionally, psychologically, or behaviorally average.
Used in a sentence: In an attempt to sound intelligent at the party, the intellav said "I simplistically wished to infer that I'm smart."

This word is of my own creation.

Monastic jargon:

"refectory" = dining room
"cloister" = "enclosure" = the part of the monastery that is private to the monks, open to outsiders only with permission of the superior; in "cloistered" communities, it is the area which the monks may leave only with permission of the superior.

There's lots more that doesn't occur to me right now.

Historical jargon

Jingoism-a more extreme form of nationalism, characterized by a love of war. The ones we call "War Hawks" would be considered jingoists.

Some hockey jargon, then:

to stick-handle: v. in hockey, to control the puck by passing it to oneself back and forth through skillful handling of one's hockey stick. The gerund (verbal noun describing this action) is stick-handling.

Similar actions in basketball and soccer are referred to by using the verb to dribble and its gerund, dribbling.
