This is the thread where you start with "FUN FACT:" and then say a fun fact. It can be a real one or a fake one - whichever is funnier.
I'll start.
FUN FACT: People from Moscow are called Mosquitoes.

NEET is an acronym for the government classification for people currently "Not in Employment, Education or Training"
Freeter is a Japanese expression for people between the age of 15 and 34 who lack full time employment or are unemployed, excluding homemakers and students. They may also be described as underemployed or freelance workers. These people do not start a career after high school or university but instead usually live as so-called parasite singles with their parents and earn some money with low skilled and low paid jobs.

Yes this is a horrible inside joke because I feel like mocking myself the reason I put you decide weather it's true or false was to point out that this may not be the case but I'm sure many Aspies are down on themselves for being stuck in either of these two circumstances.

FUN FACT: In the band Patricio Rey y sus Redonditos de Ricota, there is no Patricio Rey -- he doesn't exist. The frontman/vocalist is el Indio Solari -- nicknamed after a famous futboller from the 60s.

the rain in spain falls mainly up in the mountains- the plains are generally hot and dry. but that wasn't so fun, was it? not even for a meteorologist and especially not for a tunesmith. now a REAL fun fact is that flies defecate up to 15 times per hour. well, maybe fun for the fly.

Aha! You got me on the rain one. The thing about Indio Solari is a true fact, though, except that now I have discovered that Los Redondos split up in 2002, and Indio Solari is now fronting a band called "Los Fundamentalistas del Aire Condicionado". Still rocks.

Years ago, at the back of a Smithsonian magazine I read about the longest word in another language (I can't remember the language or the word but it was very very long) and I liked (and remembered) the definition.

The state of two people liking each other but not realizing each likes the other and both being afraid to make the first move.
Why don't we have a word for that in English? It would be useful. :)
