My son loves chess and finally found another boy who can challenge him. Unfortunately he doesn't live nearby. Question: is there a way they can play each other online? I want to be sure he is playing only with that friend.

There's plenty of sites that have online board games, you can do pogo but they have advertisements, or even just simply Yahoo Games.. I know there's more sites with a more professional setting out there for chess but it's been about 5 years since I've done it.

They could always just send the moves to each other by email or msn etc: E2 - E4 and so on.

They can both sign up at this link

Then play each other or other people.

There's a chess game they can play over skype. It's free to use and they can chat with it too.
