...or, for that matter, on one of the private servers? I've done this for years on PWI, the 'official' version. Its a lot of fun to play, though, to be honest, the Perfect World International has become a 'free to play/pay to win' kind of game, very heavy on the cash shop side of the game. So many play the private servers, which are supported by donations and votes. Its hard to say which is more fun...in PWI, you have a wide range of characters to play, with awesome customization. You can be a humanoid tiger, lion, wolf or panda for guys, who can turn into a white tiger with great strength. Ladies version have fox ears and tail, or cats, bats or the Chinese unicorn called KiLin, but in game called deer. Both have special powers. There are winged Elves, who are either archers or healers, Humans who are bladmasters, wizards, mystics. There are people from the sea, who are merpeople while in the water, but once out of the water are psychics or 'assassins'. In PWI, the assassins have kind of taken over the game, because they are the fastest and do the most damage in the shortest time, which has ruined it for those of us who have played from the beginning and have a lot of time and emotion invested in our characters. But we have kind of given up on reaching the top level of 105, and just focus on leveling for smaller goals, like new pets, armour or weapons.
The private servers have their advantages and disadviges, in that in many you start out at a high level, with great armour, but disadvantage is that there is little to do other than level up so you can make better armour, so you can level up more till you hit the top level. then what? I dont know. So they sound like they could be a lot of fun for a while, but with the fast leveling, makes for a short lived game, to my thinking. Could be a nice relief from the achingly slow PWI, but no long range playlife.
Either way, Perfect World is a great game, and one of the most beautiful MMORPGs out there
