There is a quote by Henry David Thoreau that I think is very applicable to people with AS:

"If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured or far away"

That's cool...because eventually everyone is trying to get to the same place, run the same race. We all have the goal to be happy, it just takes us different times and methods you see.
