Title: (determine title after some progress in design)
As John looked outside while listening to the incessant drip of rain, he glumly continued his work. The last few days had seen only brief pauses in the storm that gripped his town.
* If, "it," sounds like it refers to an animal, imagine the number of angry responses for using, "he." There are languages where pronouns representing the 3rd person neuter do not exist, leading to the usage of the 3rd person masculine. Although this may sound offensive to the females in the forum, if I utilized those constructs, I would utilize them with the thought that to use, "he or she," is overly condescending and presumes that all females must be patronized. Likewise, I do not mind the usage of color descriptors toward my ethnicity because to use the politically correct variation suggests some level of patronizing supremacy.
