Here's how it works:

One person posts a type of song (e.g.: A song that makes you happy) and the next person will post a song that relates to the type of song for them. OK, that was confusing wasn't it? I am not a very good explainer so I will give an example:

The original poster posts "A song that makes you happy" and the next person posts a song that makes them happy, that person also writes a new "song type" like "A song that makes you cry" and the next person posts a song that makes them cry and wants the next person to think of a song that they don't like at all, and the next person posts a song they don't like at all and so on and so on and so on.

I'll start:

"The last song you can remember having stuck in your head".

i have a new found appreciation for the blonde girl in abba. there is something about her which fascinates me (but it never did before)
i wish i was older and had a chance to get her to sing songs i made up which never went anywhere because no one was available to do vocals

i would have liked to have known her. i like piano based songs.

i have looked for studio performances from these people and i have found few, but what i have found compounds my admiration for their professionalism.

i used to be a studio engineer
until i got a cholesteatoma in my left ear.

i watched this 2 hour video in it's entirety tonight, and billy joel has always been my favorite musician.
he explains in detail how he wrote many of his songs. i think no-one will watch it because of it's length, but i hope someone who is not a no one will watch it.

i was captivated for the entire video. the man is a monumental genius. he demonstrates many of his songs on piano (for those that need a plug to keep them listening and watching)

i do not know who you are talking to so i will not reply.

here is a song that is very rich, and at the time it was being compiled, i was working at a westmead studios, and we got the master tape to do the final mix, and i broke it down to show how it was layered (for my girlfriend). i got a left ear cholesteatoma a few months later and had to resign due to the operation on my inner ear that ruined my hearing in that ear.

i always wanted to be a studio engineer and i achieved it for a short time.

so here is the generic youtube finished product (which is very good), and i had an influence as to how it was mixed.

it is a shame that almost everyone lip syncs their original performances for the video representation.

so here is a short breakdown of the final backing vocals. it maybe interesting to someone. the overlay of my narration was from last year when i showed it to my girlfriend in it's raw form.

i was often asked to play musical backings for songs, but they never used my backings because they were not good enough.
this was my idea of how a piano could fit in to the iteration of "50 ways to leave your lover", but it was never used in a re release of that song.

here is my feeble idea of how a piano track could be woven into the song "with friends" (i get by with a little help from my friends)
i have a gospel element to my imagination, but the producers did not like it.

Fireflies - Owl City

A song that reminds you of a place? (and if you care to share where, great!)
