...I'd probably be one of the following:

a tortoise (because they protect themselves by retreating into their shells)
a snail (because they also protect themselves by retreating into their shells)
an ostrich (because they stick their heads in the ground when they sense trouble)

if were an animal, i would probably be a human.
i am almost human as it is.

This is me:

I'd have been a fish out of water
and flopped around on the sand
glassy eyed and gasping sand
my thoughts not retaining an aquatic wonderland
I only knew that this alien sky
was not something I could comprehend
but just wanted to see
with a last gasp
and a last sigh

...I'd be a house cat, so I can eat, sleep, and snuggle on my human's lap without a worry in the world

...I'd be a turtle, for sure.


But I'd also like to be a bird so I could experience flight, and I'd like to know what it's like to be an octopus.
