THE ROMANTIC -

What ultimately defines the Romantic is his belief in free will, not at the indulgence of a supreme being, but by virtue of his own powers of reason. The Romantic places himself above the laws of God and Man, thus does he reject the authority of a deity in whom he has no faith and a government of which he does not trust. This manifests itself in life as the pursuit of individual greatness. For this reason Romantics are often seen as bold, larger than life characters living life, their only life, to its full.

If you are a Romantic, you might find yourself at odds with a world contrary to your values, tastes, and aspirations. There are two literary manifestations of this approach to life. One is the Byronic hero, a character alienated from society by virtue of his superiority and driven by an internal hunger that he can never fill. The most popular representatives of this type are Dracula in particular and vampires in general, and the Dark Knight Batman. The second type is the Promethean, the man who pushes the boundaries of human understanding contrary to social taboos, such as Dr. Frankenstein. Both of these Romantic types merge in the figure of Jack Skellington.

Romantics are often seen as evil because they hold morals contrary to social convention and religious dictates.

THE REALIST - AKA THE MUNDANE

The word mundane derives from the Latin word meaning worldly. Far from the modern usage indicating boring and everyday, the Mundane, or Realist, is not necessarily boring, or stupid, or lacking in intelligence or creativity. What makes a Realist is that they accept the world, both the natural world and man-made society, as a given fact. They see what is presented to them as an indisputable fact and rarely question the deeper meaning or significance of their beliefs, values, or actions.

Convention, tradition, and social expectation govern their general philosophy. As a result, the Realists hold very diverse opinions about life. It all depends on what they have been exposed to in their culture. Some of their views derive from the Romantics and others from the Idealist so they are difficult to distinguish from the other groups. What differentiates them is their unquestioned acceptance of the reality they were taught to accept and the social expectation to live according to those principles.

I'll take this as basically a three-way split, which is not inaccurate. A more realistic view would discount that these positions are mutually exclusive (which is not the case), and say I scored highly in all areas.

I think this quiz is spot on about me. Emotion is life. Why live without emotions? Emotions can be awesome sometimes and they can have their drawbacks. Without anguish of the spirit, which is a wordless experience, there are no meanings anywhere.
