The place: the world!
The occasion: the war to end all wars

As the tensions rise between the various alliances of the world, several obscure people comb the worlds and universes for soldiers to join the upcoming conflict. They must race to recruit the great people of history to fight for their side before their enemies can do the same. Many people believe that the Armageddon is coming and that this war will be the end of the world! Others believe that Ragnarok has been heralded. Yet others are certain that WWIII is fast approaching and that it will blast them back to the stone age as prophesied by Einstein. What everyone knows is that the war will change the face of the earth... forever!

As the nations of the world mobilise their armies, strange creatures and people are spotted in the four corner of the earth. There are reports of great flocks of what seem like large bats, of unexplicable phenomena, of hideous and unseen monsters. The general public is puzzled, the politicians are confused and the cryptozoologists and conspiracy theorists are smug.

A secret organisation known as Wrong Planet has sent out some of its best agents to recruit the very best brain and brawn known to man (and woman) to fight for their cause. The first of these agents is Iris Li, a shapeshifter and low level telepath, with an IQ of nearly 170 she is also a hyperpolyglot (and can speak English, Spanish, Mandarin, Hindi, Ancient Greek, Arabic, Latin, French, Nahuatl, German, Elvish and Klingon). Chosen by the WP as an interpreter and co-commander of the army.

Allan stared absent-mindedly into the corner, ever aware of his unfriendly environment. To him, anywhere was unfriendly where there were people. And yet he was about to step into a world where he would seldom be alone again. But the world was a shambles, and if doing this would keep him out of it - or at least keep him unscathed through the apocalyptic procedure - damn the consequences. Now he was filled only with determination. Whatever test or ordeal they had set up for him, he was ready.

Still, he couldn't admit being just a little nervous.
