I remember the long gone days when The only time a woman came into the local comic shop was when the owners mom was bringing him his lunch.

Do we really want them in?
How many times has a girl beaten you at your own video game ? With a superior strategy of pushing more buttons faster than you can Combo Moves be damned.

Made you feel kinda small did'nt it? I already have to fight half the guys out there when a new action figure come out I want, now I have to fight the girls too?
And they always go for the best ones!

I'm telling you if we don't do something quickly theyll take over and kick us out!

Remember back when Jo Anns fabrics or Micheals Crafts was a rough and tumble place where guys could let it all hang out? Then they threw us out!

I want my video games , action figures, sci fi network, and comic books back! And I want the cooties washed off before hand!

We should follow the leadership of our forefathers Alfalfa of Little Rascals and Al Bundy of Married with Children.

Nice, a mysogynist club. How about you boys grow up, and stop your silly little boys only clubhouse, and let girls in. Or are you really that afraid of being shown up by a girl?

(no, he is just afraid he might have to BATHE once in a while.)

This thread would be immediately locked if he had said ANY OTHER SECTION OF SOCIETY.

if he said Blacks, or Aborigines, or Asian, or Whites, or Poles, or Handicapped, or even those societal 'ret*ds' . . those weird Asperger's Syndrome people!

people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones, violet_yoshi.

I can't believe you didn't think you were not going to draw flack from this!

Let him have his boy's club. I was never in the geek squad. I hate stereotypical male bonding, don't like sharing some of my obsessions (and didn't have friends). Besides anything like fraternity, secret society, gents club not my cup of tea (understatement). A club can be selective as it likes you don't have to like it so long as they are not breaking the law. They are not subject to employment laws, etc. I'm not saying that I agree with it, but I wouldn't deny anyone the right to make a club.

Oh really? Don't make assumptions based on gender dear. I frequented my local comic shop for X-Files merchandise (back in the 90's early 2000s) so often that one day I was kicked out! I walked into the crowded shop for the newest comic (the shop was never crowded, so that was nice.. ) The guy behind the counter yelled across the shop so that everyone turned & looked at me (with a straight face) "We no longer carry X-Files merchandise, GET OUT!" 8O The whole store erupted in laughter, the little snot.

It has been reported that far too many people of the non-male gender have been abusing their limited concessionary permissions and posting messages in this thread.

I have now locked this thread from any access by non-genetically correct people. Any attempt to even read any posts in this thread will result in immediate something, unless you have the proper secret handshake and whistle.

Signed,

The Mismanagement.

They actually kicked you out of a shop? So they thought X Files and women somehow went hand in hand?
Thats kinda rude.

Catch flak? I've never caught anything. Be it a ball or a fish. ( Well technically I may have caught a few things but thats between me and my physician.)

ANd what are you doing here girls? The thread says "GUYS" . You're so sneaky. I swear sometimes I can't win for losing.

If it gets to the point of equal standing between geeks what will we men have left to impress you ladies with?

Everytime I name drop some Star Trek triva with my best friend she comes back with the characters entire history , family and names of the episodes he/she/it was in.

So I can't exclude girls only eh? Well its an equal opportunity exclusion. Be it an eskimo, a near sighted person, or a martian. If its a girl its probably going to have cooties.

But if it makes you happy , lets exclude anybody who speaks latin as a first language. Now I need signs made up. have to find somebody that speaks latin . . .

No, I knew him well from going in there all of the time. I was simply the butt of his joke. My main point of sharing that was to point out that I am female & frequented comic shops.

Was he a "Comic Book Guy" type of person? That Simpsons sterotypr carries a lot of weight (pun if you want)

I was in a shop in the flea market once and a really pretty girl walked past me carring some comics and Aliens figures.
I walked up and with a sigh introduced myself and said
" Let me guess those are for your boyfriend."
They weren't!

We traded phone numbers and I knew her for a year.We went out once but she and I were too opposed. I was going to school to learn Special Effects Make up and she was going off to school to learn Computer Generated work. It was ultimately the end of our friendship.

I'm pretty sure she had AS. She was homeschooled too so in my experience you find some unusual types that way.
All she wanted to talk about was Transformers and since I was too dense as a kid to figure them out I got stuck playing with war toys.

I want to know whos been spying on me by the way. I have a very good reason for not bathing but once since the weekend!
I'll even go get a doctors note if I have to!

Ironically it is.

I helped set up the local one and they day before opening they said "We simply don't feel comfortable with you representing us in the public eye." All I said was You want me to finish the shift or go now?

I'd been let go from so many jobs by that point for unannounced reasons that I didn't question it.

I now know it was due to my having AS.

Hey has anybody ever sued for discrimination over AS? I know nobody wants to be somewhere theyre not and I have read some threads on this but never heard what our rights are exactlly.
Cause discrimination is bad you know.
I'm going back to my Daves only thread now.

I'm pretty sure that in order to sue for discrimination of your AS, the place that hired you would have to have known about it before they hired you (or fired you? not sure).

That's gay though... I put in an application at Michaels and the bastards never even called me. I filled out their stupid questionnaire thing. The one with the questions like "If a customer was rude to you, how often would you say you'd punch him?" or "How often do you find yourself smoking a joint?"

Maybe it's because I was honest. Probably. "Yes I occasionally smoke pot but never before work or at work". Apparently that's not good enough. I don't "fit in" with the Michaels "persona".

Unfortunately I still fork out crap loads of money for them because they have really nice stuff

Actually I think the real mistake was either of us going to Michaels in the first place. WE'RE too good for them.

When I saw the title to this, I thought it was going to have something to do with Best Buy.
