As a response to this topic, I wanted to find out how much^H^H^H^H little I knew about the US. http://www.lizardpoint.com/fun/geoquiz/usaquiz.html

And the result is a quite disappointing 55 / 150. :?

I only scored 112.

I can easily tell you that most Americans are very poor at geography, esp. world geography.

Also, Sarah Palin could not find the USSR on a map.

Yeah, so I've heard. I wanted to see if that holds true or not for the WP population. (Those willing to post their results publicly, that is. )

She could've guessed randomly and had a fair chance of getting it right.

Of course, it helps that I have an obsession with the US.

As geography and maps have been a special interest for many years, getting 150 on this was very easy.

I got an abysmal 79 points. *puts gun to head* I have only ever been to the USA once, to Florida, but I am still proper ashamed of myself, as world geography is one of my special interests.

I ended up randomly guessing most of them, I would have done better if the map had mountain ranges and rivers and stuff on it, so I could judge the states by that.

I need to go study a map of the US now...

I scored 123. US state capitals was one of my obsessions in the past.

150/150... took longer than the Europe one though... those midwest and mountain states can be confusing.

Did anyone else find these quizzes seriously addictive?

While the find-the-country ones were easy, the regions-within-countries were challenging beyond the US, Germany and Australia. Did OK in Italy, France and Mexico, but poorly in Russia and China. Had no clue in Afghanistan.

Should know them all by tonight - a most effective eductional tool!

I got a 146 which is bull. I went to make a sandwich and then clicked on Rhode Island for the first time(which was the question) and it said no more tries. I will admit I had no idea where Missouri was though.

If anyone from the U.S. doesn't get a perfect score, well... that's just sad
