Boost everyone's vocabulary!

Give a word or phrase that is not commonly used and its definition.
Feel free to discuss other posters' words or add extra information.

I'll start with:

Runcible spoon - Rucible is a nonsense word used in poetry. A runcible spoon is a nonsense utensil.

That is a funny word, well worth remembering. However, if I use it in conversation it may discombobulate people.

Okay, my vocabulary is not that good, but a nice term, which took me quite a while to find out is noun adjunct. It refers (iirc) to both the apple in apple tree and the city in New York City (eeven though I am unsure about this one),

non sequitur: A conclusion or statement that does not logically follow from the previous argument or statement.

e.g. I'm older than you therefore I'm more knowledgeable.
